Hi Everyone
I am newbie to this forum, but I have been messing around with electronics since I can remember . Occasional tiny fire is common
.
Anyways what is bugging me today : Vestel sh*t (See Attached pictures)
Full info:
Hitachi 32HXC01U A
PSU/LED driver : 17IPS19-P
Main board: 17MB82-2
Display: VES315WNDL-01
I was given it with no picture, but supposedly had sound(never went to test the audio).
My first thing was to try to see if led backlight was up – No it was not.
While I was trying to measure the the PSU ON and backlight ON signals between boards- I got a tiny fire
Vestel main board went smoking.
Now to be fair this might have been my bad (not sure about this part). Nevertheless that resulted in charred U49 - no way to see its ID. Literally gone in fire and smoke. Now even LED stand-by indicator wont show any signs of life. From design U49 appears to be key part of a Buck power supply. If I am not mistaken it has both the mosfet and diod(possibly secondary mosfet) inside. Anyway – anyone has a clue what is its input and output voltage? I traced its output to both demodulator MT5135AE and CPU MT5820LUNU
My Idea is to provide the correct voltage and if it switches on see if I can sort out the backlight. I am guessing is either 5v or 3.3v. Anyone hazards a guess?
What other main boards can work with this display?
P.S. While measuring I did see +24v supply being alive.... until the other board went smoking on me.
