new never used 50pm670t - za fault

hi any one got any idears before starting to swap boards

re LG 50pm670t - za fault

the plasma pannel was brand new never used was stored still in box for 3years
ran for 5 mins perfectly before developing fault

original asumed it was caused but amp and xbox was hooked up to onkio 818 and a xbox looked away for a min then fault developed

however other gear is fine no fault and working

it bee suggested it may be corup firmware
however i have no idear how to sort firmware with no screen seemed top make sense as screen looks more like a test card that a board problem

or dose it look like control board or logic board

Run test patterns on control board.
If patterns are perfect replace mainboard.
If fault remains replace control board.

Mainboard issue, absolute shit Tvs these are from Lg IMO.

iv already replaced it with a panasonic 4k 50inch led dint buy a expencive panel for that room original as I use the projector more than panel in that room

but was looking at useing it for a pc monitor may be worth as it a new panel never use if i can pick a main board up cheap


just trying to find info on jumpers for test pattens

Does your control board look like this one:

On the control board, look for two through the board pins labelled Ext. Auto. Gen.
Short those pins together, remove the LVDS cable between the control board and main board, plug the TV in.
Should start the test patterns.

just had a thort as it was brand new out box and did run for 3mins im think if it was duff from factory i would have expected it to DOA
rather than running for 3mins before snuffing it from new

i wonder if worth pulling the board and take look and run the rework gun over it incase its a bad joint

not shaw at moment mate its not on bench its a few mouths since i had back and took a look




think ill get up on bench and check mpn tomorrow and have another look

really appreciate you input guys seems a wast to chuck a brand new panel away that only run for a few mins

when it would make a nice monitor
