Samsung PN50B860Y2F plasma clicking on an off

I have just acquired a broken Samsung PN50B860Y2F that is clicking on and off when the TV is turned on. When plugged in the red standby light is steady. When I use the remote to turn the TV on, the TV just click on and off. The previous owner told me that he had purchased a new power supply and replaced it but the clicking continues. I have researched the problem and have viewed couple of youtube videos on how to pin point the problem by disconnecting the wires to the the main board, the y-sustain board, the x-sustain board, and the logic board that were connected to the power supply and turn on the TV to see if it clicks. I initially plugged in the logic board to the power supply and there was no clicking. I unplugged the power cord and waited 5 minutes. Then plug the cable from the main board to power supply. Plug in the power cord to the wall plug and turned on the TV. The TV starts clicking. I then unplugged the TV, wait 5 minutes, unplugged the main board and plugged in the X and Y sustain boards to the power supply. Then plugged the TV back in and turned on with the remote. No clicking. So I believe I have pin pointed to a high certainty that the source of the problem comes from the main board.

Looking at the main board, there is nothing that I can see with the naked eye that tells me that a component has gone bad. My question is: with these kind of boards, is it worth it for a person who has no knowledge about electronics to try to figure out the problem or should I just get a board from say Ebay to replace and be done with it? I am a type of person who likes to learn what can be taught and attempt to tinker and repair if I could. My soldering skill is a little better than normal amateurs (I have replaced capacitors with success prior) but not as good compared to trained electronic professionals.

    Your opinion is greatly appreciated.

Prob nothing to do with Mainboard.--Last thing I would blame without first many tests.

Check all IGBT's on Y and X mains for shorts. Often if a Mainboard isnt connected to ALL the boards correctly--It'll thow a wobbly and switch off anyway.
