TV powers up but this is all i can get on the screen ..

Anyone have any ideas of what the problem could be or where to start checking since im new to tv's and really dont know much..

Start by uploading GOOD CLEAR pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards first.

OK, you need to get to the T-CON which is under the metal cover, you can see the wire with braided shield from the main board to the TCON board.
I think you have bad GAMMA Voltages on your TCON board due to bad GAMMA chip, famous in AUOPTO LCD panel.

Ok found the chip you are talking about..

Do you happen to know a part number for this chip or do i need to buy a new t con board ?

See those test points with white circle and labeled with VG1~VG22? You need to take DCV reading and report the reading of each one.
VG1 = xxV
VG2 = xxV
U901 is the GAMMA Voltage reference IC. I hope you have the tools to do SMD repair. It looks burnt out on your board

I'm just gonna order a new board since this one is defective ..

Do I need to check anything else or do you think the problem is only this board ?
