SONY 40" LCD KDL-V40XBR1

The tv has wavy on the Horiz.. Please carefully to look the video the wavy is on the horiz when connected HDMI, Video in, etc... but not VGA (VGA run perfect)

I checked all caps looks great.
HDMI 3 times changes also they are gold connectors.

still no luck.. possible PSU?

Have you tried moving the television to a different electrical outlet at your location?

Are you plugged into a power-strip with other devices or the wall?

Have you tried changing the power cable?

Yeah Yeah 4 different located, no power strips.. but as long the VGA connected is perfectly. only HDMI and other Video inputs caused.
I m guessing the HDMI board might be bad.

how about feeding a known test pattern signal into the set.... probably one showing full screen contrast / brightness level. It appears you have a ground issue. If you can get your hands on a input source that is not AC fed (eg. laptop or tablet) and see if that makes any difference.

Oh yeah, I did tested with Laptop, DVD, BLU-RAY, Cable TV, Xbox etc.. all the same the issue..
Any of HDMI, COMPONENT, VIDEO IN connectors got issue..

Only VGA connector worked perfectly.

So I use converting HDMI to VGA worked fine known as devices are good.

I believe the HDMI board issue.. not sure where can we find the parts need to replace, I can do troubleshoot.

I see all boards are connected the ground...

I haven't looked inside my set to see how it is wired but it is somewhat strange that the hdmi would be on the same board as the others you have noted as the hdmi is digital while the others have to be converted from analog. The vga (also analog) connector is a long way away from the "block of inputs" so perhaps it uses a different section.

It still appears to be a grounding issue of the signal processing section.... check / clean all the board ground points / ensure boards mount screws are good / tight.

You note a laptop test but was the laptop being powered from a wall connection?

Further: quick look at the schematic, maybe the video switch on the "B card" is the issue. It appears that VGA signals (PC input) by pass that while others don't.
