    Samsung PS42C450B1W

A little stuck on this one, set came with not start and or going into protect mode. Found x-sus board shorted, replaced the pair of shorted mosfets with nothing of note on the xsus board.

On start up, sometimes it powers up, sometimes it goes into protect mode, other times it powers up with a good quality picture, or picture with colour artefacts see pictures below. Regardless of which state it starts in the set will usually shut down after 10 to 20 seconds.

Nothing of note turned up on the Y-sus board, I am not in possession of the service manuals for this set so am looking for some guidance.

    Regards Mark

Everything soldered properly ? I had the same set same issue replaced a fet on Xsus (lowest one mounted on heatsink) sorted it noticed several bad solder joints on the board from factory which I resoldered.

The general standard of soldering about the board seems passable, will remove and re examine though, was wondering about simply replacing the whole board as they are cheap enough. Is this likely to be a problem on the ysus board ?
