Sony KDL-46w5810, t-con board F1 fuse open circuit

    Hi,

Original problem with the TV was 14 blinks code (faulty t-con)
Checked the t-con and found blown fuse (F1 - 7 Amp)
Replaced with 5 Amp, fuse OK.
TV stays on, sound is working fine, backlight is ON but still no picture.
Must be faulty t-con, fuse is fine now but not sure why blown before.
What else should I check / change on the t-con to make it working.

    Thank you.

Something probably shorted which blew the fuse but got very hot and failed open so the fuse wont blow any more. Also do you know how to check for shorted components ?

Yes, I'm checking using multimeter in diode mode.
Can you suggest any components, please?

Try the little Smd transistors and diodes on the board first. Also D116 I would check too as it looks like its lifted off the board ?

D116 one leg has been desoldered by me to check the diode.
I checked some other diodes and transistors too, can't find anything.

4 small components on picture no 2:
            CD222, CD221, CD220, CD249, are these capacitors?
Checking opposite ends in diode mode got closed circuit: 000
            Is this as it should?

Remove all those caps, you are almost guaranteed to find one shorted.

                A working TV? How boring!

                  by Hakuu
                  Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                  by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                  Assuming...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                  by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Ordered Wrong TCON Board For Sony TV, Can I flash Epprom
                  by gersrt
                  HI

Made a mistake and ordered the wrong TCON board to replace in my KDL-46HX823, the board I ordered was Sony PLY 1-883-893-11 which is sort of correct.

But later realized this board is used in 4 or 5 models, any way the one i got sent was for KDL-55HX820.

Physically these boards are identical, everything on the board is the same. I havent put this board into the TV yet, but am I right in saying all i would have to do is copy the Epprom from my faulty board and transfere it on to the new board, or is there still something else that may stop this working....
