So let me fill you in on what I have done so far, and where I am at. I have a basic understanding a TV repair. Checking voltages and what not. Majority of my skillset is in just replacement of boards, not physically soldering on new ICs or anything.
I have a UN55ES6500FXZA that is giving me weird picture issues. After seeing enough issues I think I have it narrowed down to a bad T-CON,LVDS, or "bad panel".
I first ordered a used T-CON for my TV. The used T-CON was pulled from a UN55ES6580FXZA with a cracked screen. The part numbers matched and it was BN95-00579B. It also came with the ribbon cables that connect from T-CON to panel, so I replaced those too just to make sure. The ribbon cables made no difference to the picture just FYI.
So I did have partial success. The right 3rd side of my screen cleared up completely but I am still have some weird issues on the 2/3rds starting from the left. Here are pictures with the replacement T-CON installed. Do you suspect a bad T-con still and should get a new OEM one from Samsung?
To verify it was actually the T-con that solved the 1/3rd picture clearup, I put the old T-con back in and problem comes back to the cleared up portion.
I am also having double/triple imaging as well as the TV holding the video signal when things are switched, almost like image retention on a plasma or something.
All of these issues extend into the basic menu/service menu and the picture test built into the TV.
Thanks for any assistance.
