    Panasonic - TH-P50X80A - Strange problem - unresponsive & cycles input

    Hi All,

Strange issue i am experiencing, TV is used outside (covered area).

Has an issue now, when you turn it on, it can work fine for a short time, then turns un-responsive and cycles through inputs on the screen, at this time the buttons on the screen do not work, and the remote does not work, although the IR led flashes with each key press as it is meant to.

I suspected an issue with the "Key Board" not sure what it is called, but upon disconnecting to trial without it, the remote does not register at all.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Santo

Anyone know if as the unit is outside, if there could be any form of dirt/corrosion on one of the connectors (HDMI Maybe?) That would confuse the auto-switching input logic of the unit?

sounds strongly like the keyboard on the tv is shorting out....

The button board is bad. Pull it out and replace the tact switches or the board itself.

Does anyone know if the remote control should function with the button board removed? I have tried to disconnect it but loose remote function.

I should be able to test for short on switches I will do that next.

Panasonic TX-24A1UN CRT Sound and Input problem.
            by hugocarmo
            Hi.

IΒ΄ve been given an old CRT from Panasonic, itΒ΄s almost new, it was storaged and almost not used since bought.
It is imaculate inside, almost no dust or debris inside.
The picture is good, but I have no left sound channel, I tried all the inputs, outputs, even on headphone jack. In AV2 I hear sound from right channel but no image, on tv tuner only right sound channel, the same for AV1.
So I started to look for a service manual, I found one, and started from the beginning.
Most of the times the caps are the problem so I orderer all the caps for all boards,...

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
            by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

820-02020 Super Weird Issue: Keyboard Input Character Map "Wrong"?
            by ugamazing
So, I have a really bizarre issue that I'm struggling to identify the cause of. Working on an 820-02020 board with some bizarre keyboard/input-source character mapping. My suspicion is a possible damaged SPI ROM (U1970), perhaps, but I'm really not sure in this case:

            1. The issue is pretty weird, but when installing MacOS, I noticed my WiFi password did not work. I quickly realized the special characters (!@#$%^& etc) were not mapping correctly.

            2. I noticed the keyboard layout/input-source is defaulting to JAPANESE every single time I restore the board. I am not...

panasonic TH-42PC77U plasma television half screen problem
            by renech
            hello,
I hope someone on this forum can assist me.
            I have a panasonic TH-42PC77U plasma television.
the lower 1/2 of the screen has become flaky....in and out, then finally goes black and you can only see the top portion.
i have performed the reset to default settings quite a few times. Panasonic recommended..did not believe this would help...it didn't.
I have removed the back panel and looked around for something obvious...burn marks in a board, etc....nothing obvious...
I have read some posts that suggest the problem is related to the boards on the left...

panasonic TX-P50V10E 6 blink led problem
            by Vebririon
            Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.

Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible β€” so please forgive any odd phrasing.

I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report...
