Sony KDL-40Z4100
My buddy had this tv mounted on his wall. He told me it was ghosting and I thought it may be a t-con as15 chip.
Then I got it home, turned it on with my Hisense Sero 7 pro tablet connected via mini hdmi and then I saw this mess. It turns on and lights up but about 3/4 of the screen is just lines and smeared. The top portion seems to work but very very slowly. It seems to bleed downward and the image is hazy and ghosts during movement. It looks like the tv is having an acid trip.
When I press the input button on the side of the panel the TV is very slow to respond and require multiple button pushes. Volume and power work fine. The audio is clear and loud. I tried mulitple HDMI ports to try to see if one of them is bad but it is difficult to ascertain which input you are on since the letters seem to bleed into each other but on all the inputs it's the same.
I was initially thinking it was the t-con but I kind of wonder if this is just a bad panel?
