Sylvania LD320SSX Flashing Color Test Pattern

I got a Sylvania LD320SSX and it flashes multiple colors on the screen, the Color Test Pattern.

I am thinking it is the EEPROM but after contacting ShopJimmy they are saying if it is not listed on the page that it fixes that problem then it won't. I have proved them wrong before. When you contact them you are not always answered by a technician.

I thought when any TV is stuck in the Color Test Pattern it was a bad EEPROM.
So I would like an expert to confirm this for me or tell me why the EEPROM may not be the problem?

Re: Sylvania LD320SSX Flashing Color Test Pattern

as you know eeprom saved the programmed data and provide this date to microprocessor at start on, microprocessor can changed setting and order which will be saved at eeprom. Test pattern are functional at microprocessor when its ordered as fault always from microprocessor the eeperom will save this change. also even you change new eeprom the microprocessor will write this fault again at the eeprom

also focus on reset microprocessor to rewrite the correct order at eeprom at next turn on.

Does the TV respond to anything else than the power button? You got a remote for it? I would agree with doing a factory reset. I don't think that the EEprom is bad itself, because it would do more queer stuff, I would think. Maybe the TV was in service mode and someone didn't exit it correctly?

I don't have a remote, I have a universal. I am not sure how to do a factory reset on this TV. I have the Service Manual here but I do not see anywhere in it about a factory reset.

you will really need a original remote i think to get out of the test pattern mode

Sylvania LD320SSX is a DVD combo tv made by Funai (Emerson)(Japanese brands)
you definitely need to get the remote controller. (NF000UD Remote Control*).

            * Here is A cheap one.
            http://www.ebay.com/itm/NF000UD-T2-4...0AAOSwmtJXadcZ

            Don't forget:
there is a hidden button you cannot see it and you must peel the plastic front off the remote to get to it and this will put you in service mode by hitting this button once.

if I remember correctly the service button (red or gray color) is under the eject button.

After you get the remote ,see if you can read the service-mode-remote-code.
Because some remote can learn and save the code.

Here is an Emerson remote showing where to cut the plastic to access the hidden menu.
Cut out above the "Audio" button.

Here is a picture of the screen when the "secret button" is pushed when the TV is "On".

Where to go from there is anybody's guess.

I did press the "Left Arrow" button and it started to display full mono color screens.

Thought it was stuck in this mode but I pressed some key or series of keys and the TV came back to the regular screen.

Kinda afraid to press any other keys and mess up a working TV. (Wife's TV in the kitchen).

I got the remote I ordered today, had a little trouble but got it figured out.

The secret button is actually at the bottom of the remote under the Title button. I followed the directions and presto, the TV is now working. I am relieved.

So I had another main board for the same TV that had the same problem. I switched out the boards and fixed that one too. Now the DVD player don't work so I have to fix that. I also have a Insignia doing the same thing but I forgot where I put it so I am going to drag that one out and see what I can do with it.

Well, the DVD player was completely dead, couldn't get it to do anything. I swapped it out with another and it is working perfect.

Note to all: If your DVD player in your combo TV has a problem accepting DVDs or ejecting them the fix is very simple. Clean the rubber roller inside with rubbing alcohol.

You have to peel back the sticker where the buttons are to uncover the special buttons. The secret button is actually at the bottom of the remote under the Title button. Just follow the directions on this thread.

I've got a LN-T4065F which came into my shop with the customer complaining that the test patterns would randomly come up on the screen. Upon testing, the pattern came up on the screen after about 20 minutes of use. We opened it up and did a visual inspection to see if there was any dust or bugs shorting out anything on the board that would generate the test patterns. I'm a bit new to TV repair but on a plasma tv that we recently worked on we strapped out the auto ext on the control board and it generated test patterns on the screen. My thoughts was that maybe something was shorting out that circuit.......

I tore apart my instrument cluster for my 2008 Toyota Corolla made in 2007 in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and pcb location: IC6=EEPROM is a surface mounted device with part # of 93C46W7, some claim the EEPROM out of a Camry part # 93C56 will allow odometer to roll over 299 999 KM or miles. The data sheet for both is below:

Anyone know if the Camry one will work on my Corolla?. And which EEPROM reader/writers do you all recommend I purchase that will allow me to read the old values of the old...

I got this beauty of a 65" Android Smart TV from a roommate whose boss through it out because it didn't work. I've fixed a few TVs before, but was being stupid on this one:

                                          Original issue:
TV powered down after a minute or so, but picture was fine.

TV has stuck at - as I googled the term - color test mode. Slowly flashing colors white, red, green, blue, black, over and over again. I tried some hints from internet, like pressing some remote buttons, but nothing worked. I also tried factory reset for Sharp TVs => "while holding vol– & input buttons on tv plug in set when “k” appears push vol– & chan- " , but TV doesn't even start during buttons pressed.
So I decided to flash new firmware to SPI ROM. What do you say, would it help? If so, where can I find some dump? I was unable to find...
