My tv turns on, backlight for a sec... then off... high pitch sound like a whistle... backlight on and off again.. sound works... I tried to use my phone flashlight but couldn't see anything. Please any suggestions??

Same TV model?
Can we see good clear pictures of the backside of the TV showing all the boards?

from my research this seems to be a mainboard issue and from all the repair options on ebay I think it is a reball for the main board that is required.
there are none available from anywhere reliable and the cost of even the repair ,which i suspect is a heat gun or oven (which isn't to my liking at all), is 250$ min.

What a huge waste of a nice tv.

Try having one ribbon cable between the LCD panel and the T-CON connected one at a time to see what you see on the screen, just make sure to insert the cables back in place correctly.

sorry for the late reply. Been busy re roofing my house.

anyways I would really like to get this tv going.
it was a great picture when it was working.

after looking at it further and trying it myself there is no audio either. I took my wifes info as fact. (clearly test myself or don't say it is so...)
here is a picture of what the screen looks like with tv on.
I can hit the input button but the screen stays the same no matter what I do.

I am thinking mainboard now myself but I don't know for sure.

I see tons of repair services for this mainboard on ebay but apparently its for no signal on hdmi ports. I have no display or sound.
I see no one is selling this board either just repair services.....

hopefully someone has some ideas.
shame to let this rot.

Have you tried different inputs like DVD via AV and HDMI etc.What is make and number of tcon and do the fuses diodes on it check as good. Is connection to main board good.

logo is below the screen on the bezel. nothing comes on the screen. just turns a light color and stays that way. from the back i can see backlight is on.

backlight never goes out until i turn off tv.
just no picture at all.

for how long you have the LG Logo show on the screen..? after logo gone and sound can be heard are you sure the back light still lighting up?

I have an LG 47LX6500 that turns on shows the lg logo can press front display buttons and I get full audio. just no display at all.
I am thinking tcon but i wondered if someone else may have some experience and may know what exactly problem is.

attached are pics of the boards.

i have looked around to try and find the tcon for sale but i can't find one. everywhere out of stock.
