    HAIER HLH26BB Troubleshooting

OK, so I this HAIER HLH26BB and the screen flashes. Turns on but the screen just keeps flashing. Also I can't seem to turn the volume down, could be a bad button.

Upon opening there is no visible bad parts. So then I tare it apart to inspect the inverter boards and no bad caps on those either. I now suspect the lamps and I will be checking those in the next few days.

what flashes? The backlight? Check the output voltages on the PSU and the backlight if they are good and stable. Resolder the transformers, check cables and connections, cold solder joints etc on the inverter.

Yes, backlights are flashing. The lamps look perfect, no dark spots and they all light up equally. So I think I narrowed it down to 2 possibilities. Either 1 of the inverter boards or the power supply. Most likely the power supply because I see someone has changed a few caps on it. The Power Board is labeled 5VDC, 12VDC, & 24VDC but I am getting like 4VDC, 10VDC, & 22VDC. My 12VDC starts out at 12VDC and then drops down to 10VDC before the backlights turn on. So my next step is to test all the caps on the Power Board.

OK, I just fixed it. Of course I forgot to say I did not find any bad solder connections.

I found C52 & C84 to be bad. They are 100uf 25V and I replaced them with 100uf 50v because that is what I had. The 2 caps were reading 68uf and 15 ohm ESR.

So I put the TV back together and the backlights are no longer flashing. But I now my buttons don't work. I can turn the TV on and off just fine but all the other buttons are wacky. Maybe a bad resistor on the button board. I think I will try to test it with a universal remote first.

practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards
          by blues_spirit
          Hello from France,
mon2 kindly advised me to post a thread to ask the question(s) I'm concerned about. I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards especially laptops in Europe, if possible in France. I have been a computer network system administrator and a corrector of administration modules for automated programs under Unix. But I really miss the practical "ops" side of troubleshooting. So I would like to start from the beginning: 1.8V, 3.3V, 5V and 19V tests for example, etc...
Do you think this is feasible for me? I...

GV-N2060OC-6GD REV 2.0 GIGABYTE video card troubleshooting assistance needed.
          by gcrezz
The issue with this video card is the HDMI port. Specifically on pin 19 (Diode checks on all other pins are normal). When i do a diode check on it from the pin on the board itself, I have nothing. There is also no short on the pin. Resistance reads about 200k. Normally on any HDMI pin 19 I would expect some voltage drop anywhere from .5v to 1.2v but here, I have nothing. The card is operational and can be used via the displayPort ports, but not through the HDMI. Attached you will find the pdf schematics for the card on page 22. I have verified that all of the resistors on this line before the...

Looking for assistance troubleshooting a Panasonic TC-P65ZT60 with 3 LED Fast Blinks
          by CrewmanRedShirt
          Hello all,
As the title states, I followed the troubleshooting guide located here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/23...page=53#manual, which concluded the 'A' board needs to be replaced. Looking around the net and eBay, I see that there are repair services for the board (TNPH1043UE? Not sure if it is a 'UE' as the suffix grid does not appear marked). What additional troubleshooting can be performed to ensure 1) this board is the problem and 2) since there are repair services, what are they fixing on the board?) I expected 3.3V not to be available anywhere...

Troubleshooting Old Chiefmax 650Watt ATX Switching Power Supply
          by Zippie
I’m looking for some advice troubleshooting an old Chiefmax 650w power supply in a PC, if it’s advisable to dig into it.

Worst case I can replace the PSU, I’m just interested in learning the troubleshooting process. However, it’s out of my area of expertise and I could use some direction.

During PC operation I heard a loud pop noise, like a cap gun and the tower lost power.

Initially there is no power output 3.3v, 5v, or 12v when jumping the power on pin to ground. Also, no fan power.

Opening the PSU the only things visible initially...

Looking to learn about troubleshooting my Lenovo L14 Gen 1
          by eliasseverholt
          Hello!

Unfortunately my Lenovo L14 Gen 1 (motherboard NM-C741) was involved in a terrible mishap. At first, one of my friends accidentally spilled coffee on it which made some of the ports stop working but the computer worked fine otherwise. After that I stupidly opended it and forgot to disconnect the battery... One thing leads to another and I accidentally short it between two components (unfortunately I do not remember which components). After that I get nothing, no charging indication, no boot indication, no fan spin, nothing.

So I'd love to learn my mistakes and...
