This is my first attempt at repairing a TV and it looks like i already messed up
The TV's colors are distorted and yellowish.Picture kind of looks grainy if any.All inputs work and so does sound.I went over PSB with my DMM and no bad caps and everything checks out in that area.I'm guessing the mainboard is good because the picture work and the sound also works.
Looks like this but a bit grainier:

The previous owner told me i was most likely the T-con board, i'm leaning towards this as well.
Here's what i've tried so far until i messed up the t-con board:
Reseating all cables
Pushing down on the panel tab joints on the top to check for any loose connections
The problem has got to be the t-con or the panel itself. The video i linked suggests it's the gamma chip that has gone bad.So i tried resoldering it to see if that would help.Ended up ripping 3 copper traces as i didn't expect the pins to be so fragile and now the t-con is compromised. The part # is T400HW01 V3 or 40T02-C04.I've been trying for find this board but they are from china in the 130$ range.I also found another t-con for the same model TV with a very similar layout. Its part # is 1-877-777-11 and it says my TV is a compatible model.
Here is the board i currently have:

Here is the board i want to get:
http://www.shopjimmy.com/sony-1-857-...-con-board.htm
So my question now is, are these two t-cons interchangeable or would it just be worth a try? Same model different part #. i'm guessing the latter board is newer?
Or is the t-con even the problem?
Also i notice that the light coming through the back panel holes is yellow with the exception of a few white in the top and that is with the t-con out .
