    Sunbrite 3200hd-pro

Hello I was given a outdoor tv
I am not a tech so my skills a limited but not afraid
If I see something obvious (bad cap I can solder an new one in) or can change a board but testing skills are lacking

hooked up AV1, AV2 and VGA all seem to be in black and white

when switching, blue screen looks fine
the on screen menu looks fine

I pull out the input board sprayed with contact cleaner
pulled out the cable going from main board to t-con board sprayed with contact cleane

can we go through the list...

color on the menu is fine, blue screen looks fine - So I think the panel is OK

no lines or bloshes - So I think the Tcon board is fine

the screen is lite up and menu looks fine - So I think the back light board is fine (however I do hear a little hum coming from that but maybe that is there all the time when its on??)

so Im left with main board or input board

this is a very old tv but an outdoor tv should I throw money/parts at it or cut my losses

"A picture is worth a thousand words". If you can post pictures and also of the circuit boards would be a good start looking for help.

it is the main boards issue, much like leads soldering open. or main chips processor issue, try with finger on the black heat sink push down little hard many time if the screen make color effect

Have you tried different video sources?
Don't buy those $10 PSU "specials". They fail, and they have taken whole computers with them.

Asus Q550LF (Old main laptop, 2014-2022) - Decommissioned and stripped due to a myriad of problems, the main battery bloating being the final nail in the coffin.

I have feed it with VGA (computer)

AV 1 (composite input yellow red white) WD media player

                  and AV 2 same

I dont have anything component input (RBG)

I have tried the WD media player with the same cable on different tv and works fine

Have you set the TV to the wrong standard. NTSC, PAL SECOM etc. That's the only time I can remember seeing a colour picture turn B/W especially since you have the menu in colour.

Is there a Reset to Factory mode buried in the menu?

                    Edit:
If you tried it through AV1 & 2 that bypasses the tuner so I doubt its a standards selection problem as I first thought.

                      Ok
I tried wiggling the black heatsink - no change

I pulled the board and tried the heatgun on the backside of the board - no change

so are we are pretty confident that its the main board?

                      thanks

from this i think its main boards, and only the main processor which under the heat sink responsible for this adjustment and video out put.

try to go to Sunbrite website and download the Firmware and play it again.. it may help too
