    Samsung LN32A330J1D and T-Con V315B3-C04 - looking for T-Con Fuse part number

    Hi everyone -

I have a Samsung LN32A330J1D LCD TV that powers on, audio works on the selected input, the backlight is on, but nothing shows up on the screen. I traced the issue down to the fuse on the T-CON board (V315B3-C04). I can see 12V on the connector, and only on one side of the fuse. The other reads zero volts and is definitely open.

I tried cross referencing the T-Con board and TV part numbers, but i can't find specifications on the fuse to use. The original fuse is marked with the letters "UD". Does anyone know the exact fuse P/N or can suggest a suitable alternate?

Since the TV was free, i removed the blown fuse and shorted a wire across the pads. The thing powers up just fine and all the inputs work. I would just like to have the correct part in there before i button the TV back up.

    Thank you,
    Thomas

What numbers/lettering is on the fuse or does it say on the board what voltage/current the fuse is.

If you can measure the size of the fuse so you can identify the type, eg 605, 803 etc then you should find the information in the following pdf.

        Edit
Irrespective of type, a UD fuse is a 3.15A fuse

Wow that's a lot of replies in the last few hours. Thanks for the input guys.

I believe its an 0603. I'm currently at work, so i don't have it. But thank you for the datasheet. I'll find a 3.15A fuse (or close equivalent).

            I do appreciate that!

They sure use real close to the max inrush current of the T-CON, 3.4A (page 7).

I ended up using a 5A 0603 fuse that I got from work... That should give a little bit of headroom for future issues.

Looks like i had a Littlefuse equiv part that i used previously on one of my boards. Just yanked it off with a soldering iron and installed it on the T-con. The original part size was definitely an 0805.

The 0603 pack type works for now, but i'll get the 0805 package on Monday then wrap this up for good.

                Thanks for the help.
