    Samsung PN50A510

I just picked up this tv. Seems to have the powere issue that others hav posted about.
    I'm going to replace C102, which is a 10v 47uf tantalum capacitor.

When I measure the one that is on the board, it measures 128uf.
Why such a big difference? Is my board somehow different?
    The board number is BN94-1880A.
On the bottom of the board there capacitor isn't labeled C102 but it's in the position that it shows in the pictures of other posts.

It measures that as its on the Pcb, there is other buck capacitance for that rail connected to that cap so thats why it reads that.

Ok thanks reecey. This cap is smaller in person than the picture seemed. Lol
Shout I buy a hot air gun or can this be accomplished with a soldering iron?
I have a station with a variable temperature setting.

Or should I send the board out for repair for $40?
      Lol

I would say hot air to remove and iron to get the new one on. I would personally use an iron but if your not that confident soldering use hot air to remove it.

I'd have to buy a hot air gun. I might try with my soldering iron.
I'll order 2 or 3 of them. I'll also go buy a heat gun, I know it's not as good as a hot air station like I know you pros have but I've see people use the 2 setting kind.
If anything it will be good to have around.

Yeah, to get it off basically flood both pads with solder and swipe it off. Use tweezers to align and solder the new one.

As ReeceyBurger123 says, flood it with solder and it should drop off.

The cap arrived I put it in.
The tv doesn't turn on. The relay clicks, the front power led flashes and there are lights on the logic board that flash.
The new cap has different markings than the old one. It has a + on one end.
The old one didn't as seen in the picture. It has a gray line on one side. Was I correct in assuming that was the negative?

Err--So Whats this fuse you are now on about then?

--Thought you were on about a cap...

Did you not do proper fault-finding and run test-patterns on the set?

Tis obvious from pics--the PSU is flashing out a fault-code.....

I'm sorry. I meant to say cap. Not sure why I said fuse.
The psu isn't flashing. The logic board below it is.
I did a search for the model number using the search function. The problem with the set matched what other users in the thread were experiencing. So this was the first thing I tried. The cap was cheap and I wanted to try my hand at replacing components like this.
                          It was my first attempt.

Then I put it in backwards. So I guess I better turn it around before proceeding.
Could that have ruined it? I purchased three so I can replace I if it did.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't

I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....
