Vizio E321MV screen freezes

I picked this tv up from across the street. Tomorrow is trash pickup day.
The tv runs fine for a minute or two then freezes with partial picture and vertical line and screeching.
I've gone in the menu and reset it.
Any clues?

Sounds like a bad main board.
have you done a firmware upgrade on it?

I've looked everywhere, can't find any firmware.

The eprom data is the same as the firmware correct?
A seller on eBay who sells preprogrammed EPROMs for the tv for $20, said he would sell me the data for $15.
I can't solder these things on.
Should I pay the $15 and try to flash it through the the USB?
