    Samsung plasma PS60E6500

Hi I have an issue with this models PSU unit, a month ago all of a sudden something popped while watching tv and a circuit breaker switch triggered. Took it to a repair shop and they diagnosed a burned PSU unit, replaced transistors and it worked for some month or so. It shut down in the meantime few times, with 5 led flashes and a loud pop was heard again. Took off the PSU board and they replaced some more components (transistors and a popped capacitor ) after installing the board back in the tv everything worked fine for couple of days and it popped again and circuit breaker is triggered. Tv is connected to a power through voltage regulator that maintains a steady voltage I was thinking to prevent a second malfunction of power board but obviously it didn't help.

Since tv is huge cant afford to rent a truck every few weeks just to carry it to a repair shop and back, but was thinking to order a new PSU board and replace it.

Can someone suggest if the problem is solely within the PSU or it is caused by a short in some other board? Dont wanna burn the new PSU board .

Also when the tv was working all the voltages were within specified values. *(label on the plasma screen).

Sounds like that repair shop is quite shit at what they try to do lol. Normally cold solder joints on the Psu on these can cause that issue and the Psu to go bang, it might be easier to replace than fix unless you have good soldering and diagnoses skills ?

Sadly they are one of the biggest repair shops and electronic parts shops in the country, and official Samsung service partner.

I can visually recognise the parts that have been replaced and use a digital multimeter and also I have poor soldering skills. My main concern is will a new board solve the problem or could it be that the issue is with the x,y sus or buffer boards causing the PSu to short?
I've seen on avsforums a lot of complaints about pn7000/8000 series concerning Power supply boards.

Managed to buy a new PSU board and the Tv is working, all the voltages are correct. Only thing that I notice now is the buzzing noise coming from the x board.

Is there a fix or a known issue why there is a buzzing sound coming from x board?

Hopefully its not some problem with x board that caused the short on PSU.

Doubt it, normally if there was it would go bang as soon as you powered it up. Maybe remove it, check for cold joints and make sure all the screws are tightened very well.

Checked all the solder points and they all seem to be OK.
Tightened all the screws to the max and buzzing is still present.
I've noticed that SVC_XOUT VOLTAGE IS 106V is that good or bad? I can't find the reference value for it.
All the other voltages VS,VSC,VE AND VA are within the spec.

How bad is the buzzing ? If its slightly audible its fine.

Buzzing is coming from the circled area mainly. Its 37 dB not so much but Im paranoid that it might be the reason for shorting something in the future. Also in the past while the tv was working often a pop was heard every now and then as the set was warming up, it was a sound of plastic expanding or something.

Is there a test to see if some component is drawing to much current?

SVC XOUT voltage is changing depending on the tv picture.
