    LG 32LE5400 mainboard or panel?

    Hi,

I've got an LG 32LE5400 that originally had no video displayed.
Selecting the menu option showed some change in the what was shown on the screen but nothing legible was visible.
The full number is 32LE5400-UC.AUSWLNR and the panel is LC320EUH (SC) (A1).
I do not see any seperate tcon on this set - looks like the lvds cables go from the main board directly to the panel.
There is a chip getting extremely hot on the main board - MAX17113ETL
Chip is available from Digikey, but due to the package style I found it too difficult to replace.
I finally found an exact replacement main board on Ebay. I ordered it and on installation still did not get any video.
I've included some photos showing the screen with the replacement main board installed, each of the two lvds cables being disconnected and shots of the rear of the set.
The replacement main board doesn't seem to have any chips getting hot.
So the question is - did I get another faulty main board or is the panel bad?
    Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi,

I'm resurrecting this post that I made some time ago. Never got any responses.
Anyone have any input on this problem?
Does this look like a panel problem or is this bad video driver on the main board?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Try inputting a signal via any of the connectors eg. from the HDMI or USB and see if you get a clear half picture with only one of the connections from Tcon to Panel.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

        Dick,

I just tried the set with video and audio into the AV1 input. I have audio but no video. I just get random vertical lines that doesn't seem to change if the video changes.
I think that there is no t-con board in this set.
If I disconnect the lvds cables from the main board to the driver board that's connected to the panel I get no video - regardless of which side I disconnect.

          Hi,

Finally took the tv apart down to the panel. Both the chip on film ic's are extremely hot.
I guess the panel or both chips are bad.
The bottom line is I have parts available to sell if anyone can use them.
I'm pretty sure the replacement main board I purchased is good but really have no way to test it.
Message me privately and we can discuss things.

I would say panel on this sorry. Its bloody hard to say though when the Tv isnt in front of you.

              Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
              by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
              CN6401
              Pin 01 NC
              Pin 02 NC
              Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
              Pin 04 "N/C"
              Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
              Pin 06 "GND": N/C
              Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Issue: No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change

Short answer: replace main board and power board
Technical answer: replace main board and Q306 & Q307 on power board.

              Long answer:

TV wouldn't turn on. Power switch was fine which means the main board isn't processing the power on signal. Replaced main board. TV turns on now but randomly reboots. Bad main board? EEPROM? Tried to pull main board and got a shock touching the corner of the board. That's weird. C334 (450V 10uf) capacitor is still holding a high charge....

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
              by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

un60j620dafxza - Samsung No Display Problem
              by stylishconsultant
              Hi All,

              Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....
