TV Led Sony KDL-42EX44 - flashing half of screen after one hour

    Hi Guys

    I have a TV Led Sony KDL-42EX44

The right half part of the screen is flashing on and off after one hour the tv is on.

The tv have the led back-light driver on the PS (APS334 - 072-0001-3090)

Is the led driver on the PS that is causing the issue?

Should I replace the two 10uf 450V on the board?

    Thanks

    John

Hi John. I'd check the voltages going to the leds via their plug in connectors see if one varies or isn't stable and if it's the correct voltages.Usually the board will have the voltage info marked on it. On some sets you can plug those out and the PSU still will work you could test the voltages on the board at those two connectors and at the other marked pins.If possible I'd try to isolate the PSU and test it's voltages that way too.

It's hard to see those caps that well to really see if their bad visually and you can't really tell sometimes just by looking at them.I'd go by how old that set is and what brand of capacitors are in the set.For example many capacitors fail within 3-5 yrs especially near the hot spots or if a set is used a lot etc.I'd check all the board soldering connections, voltages, then check the caps out of the circuit. Also check the resistors close by Q6801 and Q6801 etc. Since I have many different common caps on hand I'd change them regardless what their test results were. One thing I do is I try to up the voltages of the new caps so if it's a 10UF 450V cap I use the nest higher voltage cap available to me.

You can purchase caps on mouse.com and ebay and other sites , just be sure their a good brand and Low ESR. Also if you need something to test electrolytic capacitors, diodes, mosfets, transistors etc you can look Mosfet test equipment and try to get the ones that have test leads.Their not really expensive and their handy to have along with a good digital meter, soldering station, solder sucker, solder wick etc.

Dell G3 15 3500 - Battery bug (black screen and flashing keyboard backlight)
      by HTR-Informatique
      Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

      Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
      by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
      by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Sony XBR65X900H TV with Horizontal Lines right half of screen
      by dvu0627
I have a Sony Smart TV XBR65X900H that started to have horizontal lines on the right side of the screen (see attached picture). When I played video on Youtube green horizontal line at regular intervals(1/4") across the screen.
I replaced the T-Con board but the lines are still there.
I believe this issue is from the Main Board. Before I replace the Main board, I wanted to seek advise if this is the problem from the Main board or something else?
      Thank you for the help....

LG 55UH6150- trouble powering up, then half lit screen (pictures!)
      by valvashon
The 55" LG has been in the basement for a few months without being used. Turned it on yesterday, set came on as it should and showed a complete screen for about 5 seconds (was on a broadcast channel but no antenna was connected), then the screen went mostly dark with about 1/3 of the screen on the right lighting up with brighter lines in that lit part (sorry, no pictures of that). Power LED was cycling too, preventing the TV from fully powering up.
Pulled the back off, all boards looked OK. Pulled the LED connector, turned the set on to see if it would power up but I don't belive it...
