Panasonic 42" PX-P42VT30 used kit, need help on C507

Just finished soldering TNPA5330 kit for VSUS short.

    i.e. Q401-403, Q421-Q423, Q531, D401,D421,IC502.

Measured the VSUS line, got 60 Ohms. Turns out that C507 is shorted to 60 Ohms. Removing C507 (blue colour) from the circuit VSUS resistance jumps to 260kohm.

Either I accidently rested the soldering iron on the cap (see corner discolouration) or it was faulty.

Anyway, I need a new one. Anyone know how to read the cap value/type/voltage or where to buy it?

    Pic of cap attached.

    -- edit --
From the GT30 service manual it looks to be C16507 (C507 on actual VT30 board)
    C16507 F0C2E115A280 C 1.1 UF 250 V

I'd still like more details on the cap if anyone knows anything.

Not sure about the cap, maybe metalise polyester, 5% tolerance. You could order it from a Panasonic parts . Not cheap at $7 USD

Have you checked the P-board. Apparently it can short out due to a shorted Sn board in these from what I've read recently.

Yes, the P-board is busted from the short on SC board (the components mentioned above), the 2 transistors and fuse are blown. I have the parts, just have not fixed that yet.

      Question:
Don't know if you know the answer, but it appears as if the GT30 service manual puts a 16 in front of the component numbering in comparison to the 42" VT30 PCB, for example:
      on 42" VT30 PCB, Q401, R401, on schematic of GT30 Q16401, R16401.

I'm asking in that I would blindly be ordering the capacitor (no pic on website), since I'm assuming the above numbering holds true for the capacitor as well (VT30: C507 -> GT30 SM: C16507). Going to borrow a friends capacitor meter and remove and test on the other working capacitor to determine if its value is 1.1 uF, then I can assume it is the correct part to order.

      Question:
By panasonic parts do you imply:
      https://panasonic.encompass.com

      Thanks for your input

      Chris

If it's across Vsus it's just a bulk decoupling capacitor so 1uF or 1.5uF would work perfectly fine.
Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!
For service manual, schematic, boardview (board view), datasheet, cad - use our search.

That's 1 site i look at but i was thinking your local authorised.

I overlooked you were not sure. The image you post show 115j as marking = 1100000pf = 1.1uf. J is 5% tolerance 250vdc would be right. Seems a standard value in thst location on the different boards.

16 is a board identifier ss is also has 16 ss a prefix as there could be a c507 on the A-board or p-BOARD TOO..

You would order using that large number you saw in the manual or try something in those specs. As tom has suggested value near 1.1uf should be fine but voltage can be 250vdc or higher

            Just an update.

Got a flashing green light, 5 seconds later I heard a very small click/pop sound, switched off, TNPA5330 (S-Board) shorted again. P-Board still ok.

So there is something more wrong with my S-Board than what the standard kit (p-board/s-board) supplies.

Anyway, just thought I would inform, but I don't believe I'm going to take it further in my attempts to repair the S-Board.

That's a shame. Maybe keep an eye out for a good board. If you were in the US PTS would have been worth a go, gets expensive shipping wise.
