Hi folks. I have an LG monitor that is dead. I found 5 bulging caps on the board, so I replaced them. Still no power. I checked the fuse and it is blown. Would bad capacitors cause the fuse to blow or not. i can t find any shorts anywhere.
Also, to test the power supply, I am going to use a bulb. Its 72W. I took a pic of the setup because I want to make sure I am doing this right. I removed the fuse and put one wire of the bulb on one side, and the other wire on the other end(series). I then have the power cord plugged into the board and into the outlet.

But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though.
