Can't find any threads on this TV so this failure may be unique. There is a burnt area on the power supply/inverter board and would like some opinion if this is repairable or does the whole board need to be replaced.

Re: LG 42LG60 Burnt Power Supply
I would be quite concerned if that was my set. Components are generally fire rated with a view that they do not burst into flames.
Are you aware if the set has been abused in someway for example been left outside in all weathers or had liquid spilt on it?
My opinion in the interest of safety would be to replace the whole board.Last edited by dick_barton; 04-02-2016, 01:55 PM.Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Bleah, all that brown dust everywhere... it looks like the owner was a heavy smoker or it was placed in a room with a bad working stove/chimneyLast edited by Dumah Brazorf; 04-02-2016, 02:30 PM.
