sharp lc-45gd4u No Video, No Sound at first

I'm working on a sharp lc-45gd4u LCD TV that after power up, has no video and no sound, but has back lights. It turns off after about 30-45 seconds.

According to the owner, if he turns it on an off a number of times, it will eventually come on. He says the amount of time it takes to come on is getting increasingly longer, and is now over an hour.

I did see the TV on and when it's on, it works fine. It can be turned off and back on within a few minutes, but if it stays off more than about 10 minutes, you have to turn it on and off for another hour to get it back on.

I don't see any leaking caps on the power supply board and all PS voltages seem to be there. The PS_ON is working, since the back lights light up.

The increasing time to come on sounds like a failing cap, but isn't the power up digitally controlled by the main processor?

This is an older TV with a bunch of boards, some of which are very difficult to access/remove.

    Anybody have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

You could try heating each board(testing for operation before moving to next) with a hair dryer to narrow it down.

A2442 - No sound over internal speakers and no video playback
        by soeren
I am facing a strange issue, I don't have any sound over my internal MacBook speakers and also the video won't start. If I change to my head speaker or via HDMI (speaker on my external Display) the sound works over the head speaker or Display and also the video starts (ex. youtube).

All happened after the battery ran out of power overall several days when I was on vacation.

I tried to remove the battery and then reconnected the battery, and then the MacBook Pro 14 2021 won't accept any power from my power socket. Then I removed one speaker, connected again the battery...

Onkyo HT-R390 no sound output, video output ok
        by FrancescoV
        Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
        M:1.00/11107BLP
        D:?.??/????????
        O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

Sharp Aquos 40aj6ke backlight ok, no sound or video
        by Questcom
        Hi All,

I have recently purchased a faulty Sharp Aquos 40aj6ke which turns on and has backlight but has no sound or video, the person I brought it from told me he had changed the main board and the same fault was there.

I have tested voltages on main board and they seems ok, the backlight is at 75v, I believe this tv has 3 x 8 strips of leds which 75v would work out to around 3v per led

I think the issue is on the board that attaches to the lcd, doing a bit of digging watching videos etc, there is a lot of mention of vgl and vgh being around -8 and...

        by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...
