TC-P50X5, solid red LED, no blinks, no prime, no picture or sound

I picked up a TC-P50X5 a while back with the no power issue common with this PSU. I ordered the IC and replaced it which brought the set to life. I buttoned it up and called it fixed. When I went to sell it, I plugged it in and tried to turn it on. The LED on the front lights solid red and stays lit. The optical audio out on the main board lights for a second, then turns off. Voltage at the main cap starts at ~170 and climbs to ~380, then when the optical audio out light shuts off, it drops back to ~170. If you hold the power button down for three seconds, the LED will turn off and the set is completely unresponsive unless unplugged and plugged back in. I have a second PSU but no other boards to swap out. There is no change with the second PSU installed. There are four wires at connector SN2 on the SN board. There is a S/C between the white wire and the two middle wires at that connector. There are also a few components that show S/C in circuit. I am leaning towards a faulty SN board, but there is no blink code that would suggest it. Do any of you have any ideas?

Where are you seeing the service manual in that thread?

Thanks, it's a start, but doesn't really help with the troubleshooting. They reference a training manual. I've had a look at that one and it doesn't really help either. I do appreciate the input though.

The power supply is a good starting point to check what voltages if any are missing.

I've already done that and tried a second power supply.

So you have and can confirm that when tested all the voltages are correct ?

sounds like shorted Vsus. On the SN, Pin 6 or SRV-Vsus to gnd what do you get withe the P2 disconnected.

I guess you know this but if the PSS is good, a an A-board & SN together is the princely sum of $43 from SJ!

at SN2, Pin 1 is gnd, 3,4 are MID or the ERC from the PSS, 6 is Vsus

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

                                by kca
                                Hello all ~

I’m working on this Samsung 60” LED and purchased a new main board a couple of days ago that did not fix the 5 blink issue. The original main board’s HDMI ports (all 4 of them) failed to work and no amount of reflow remedied that.

This 5 red light blink code on the front panel LED is followed (about 15-20 seconds afterward) by an automatic reboot, and results in 5 more red light blinks. Then the entire cycle repeats itself indefinitely.

                                No picture. No sound.

I tested all the voltages coming out of the power supply...

                                Good day ladies and gentleman!

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...

My name is Christos, I am new to the forum here and i am posting from Greece.

So i have this old German sound card from Marian, called Trace Alpha. To be exact i have 2 of them and i use them professionally for my small FM radio station here. The first one works like a charm, but the second one does not work at all.

To be more specific in the same exact pc with windows 7 (i even tried 32bit) the one works while the other doesn't.

So i tried asking for a schematic from the company and they would not give me one. Instead they...
