    Philips 50pfp5532d/05 no picture

    Hello all.
This set does not power on. I have 5v standby 15v vg. 12v ssb and vsnd 17v neg and pos. I get no vs or va with x and y sus disconnected. If i give 5v to vson is get 207v vs and 62v va. I can see a bulging cap on the x main c4712 but was trying to get power first. Thanks. Any ideas.

Ok. So i had a good look at the boards i removed the y main and buffer and also the x main.

After a close look they dont seem to have the obvious damage that is in the links to the vids you sent me.

So with the x and y mains disconnected should i not still have voltage on the vs and va connectors?

I went around and refreshed the solder like you suggested.

When i plug the power in i get 3 solid lit leds.
1 led is lit on the daughter board on the power supply.
2 leds are lit on the logic board i think they are marked 8001 8002.

          All large fuses are good.
The 2 surface mount fuses on the logic board are good.
Is there any more checks i can do?

          Thanks

You need to check Vsc and Ve voltage on the Xmain and Ymain.

Ok, i can see the test point for the ve on the xmain but not the y main? Where abouts should i be looking. On the main power plugs for the boards i have vs vcc and ground.

              Xmain i have.
              Vcc 14.88
              Vs 2.6
              Ve 1.12

              Y main i have
              Vcc 14.8
              Vs 2.6
Sorry cound'nt find a ve point to test

Just to add if i put a link in between 5v and vs on, on the power board connector cn8002 i get 207v on the vs line on both the y and x main boards i also get 94v on the ve on the x main.

What would stop me from getting a vs on signal when i turn the set on?

The plug with vs on comes from the logic board but that connects to the ssb which is connected to the side panel.

Do faulty x or y mains and buffers prevent the vs on signal to stop them from powering up?

Im struggling to find any manuals that have the scematics and and test procedures for this exact model. Ive found simerlar but the board layout s all seem slightly different thanks for the help so far.

Ok so this morning i swapped the logic board. The set started to power up i had 3 green led lit on the logic board plus led 2002 was flashing about once a second. This had not been happening before i changed the board.

Within about 10 seconds the third from bottom y buffer chip exploded.

So do i need to change the y main and buffer now do you think?

Your not diagnosing it properly dont just throw boards at it. Does the Ymain have the green Led on it lit up ?

So the y main is in protection mode now. I noticed you were selling some boards in the for sale section. Do you still have any for this tv how much would you want for the boards i need?

                            Cheers.

Im no longer selling the boards, have you tried disconnecting the buffers to see if the protect light is still on ?

I can use my meter to test for continuity between 2 points if you tell me where to check. Im a lift engineer so use my meter mostly for checking voltages and shorts too earth or between trailing cables looking for damaged wiring. If you tell me where to check ill have a go.

                                    Thanks for the help.
