    Vizio XVT553SV HDMI ports dead.

Without warning all 5 HDMI ports went dead. Did factory reset on tv but no change. Using components input everything seems to work fine but would rather have HD. Can't seem to find replacement main board #3366-0122-0150 anywhere. Couple of guys offered to repair my board if I sent it to them but I would be without use of my tv for maybe a couple weeks and maybe not get it back. I have repaired tvs for over 30 years but always had schematic and parts available but now things have changed. Can anyone give me any suggestions. Thanks, Bob

Can you please verify the '3366-0122-0150'? Nothing comes on the search.

May be you can try and see if the ICs are getting the DCV, it is not going to be easy without diagram so you will have to do some probing.

Yes, that part # is correct but the board # is 0170-2272-3237. I noticed that all the ports are connected to one large IC that would be a challenge to replace IF one was available. The only voltage I would know to check for would be the supply and I guess it should be +5v, and it should be located at one corner. But that is a very common voltage and everything else is working fine. I would not attempt to change that IC unless I was pretty sure it was the trouble. Do you suspect that IC is a commonly used part number? I don't have the number and don't want to tear it down right now since I am still using the tv. Also any info on places to get parts would be very helpful. Many thanks, Bob

Re: Vizio XVT553SV HDMI ports dead.

I have replaced an hdmi controller ic (not saying it was this one ) on a Toshiba and it solved my problem. Mine was shorted and getting very hot and the board was not working at all. After replacement all was working including the hdmi ports.

There are no guarantees so you have to make a decision on how to proceed. You should know that hdmi ports are notoriously susceptible to voltage spikes and static so if you have the tools and the means AND you are seeing the proper voltage at the chip I would change it out.

I got my replacement part from another board with a different problem, btw.

I have this exact TV and had the same exact problem. I'm pretty sure the LCD was manufactured by LG (my remote from this TV can control my 60" LGTV). LG TVs from the 2010-2012 timeframe are notorious for their HDMI ports failing overtime. Many people have found that "baking" the mainboard at 385 degrees for 10 minutes in a conventional oven fixes the problem.

I tried the baking method (after realizing the Vizio was made by LG) and it did indeed cause my HDMI ports to work again. It's not for the faint of heart and you should follow all the proper precautions (e.g., put the mainboard on some cardboard while baking, let the mainboard cool after baking, etc.) For exact instructions, just google "LG tv solder reflow"

Philips 55OLED803/12 HDMI ports "half" defective
            by Wittie
Hello everyone, Please excuse my poor English, but I'm using Google Translate ^^ I'm having a problem with the HDMI and USB ports on my 55OLED803/12. It's no longer possible to connect an HDMI device and see the picture. No matter which port I use, it only recognizes the device as an input source and displays it in the list (BD player, Fire TV, etc.). However, the actual picture doesn't appear in the same state. My home theater system also runs via the BD player - it still receives a signal and plays the sound correctly (e.g., from the TV program or an app like Netflix). This works with both HDMI...

Denon AVR-X2600H DAB - HDMI Ports dead
            by Data45000
            Hi there,

I just wanted to watch another episode of Luficer last night and had turned on my AVR with the FireStick.

Suddenly I heard a dull bang. "Poof"

I noticed that several HDMI inputs no longer work at all. Some only work when a PC signal is present or only one signal on the whole input side.

Often the picture goes black or it jerks up and down as if the signal is present briefly, but then disconnects in a loop.

However, the front HDMI works perfectly...

Would anyone have an idea what is defective here...

Vizio VL470M - HDMI Ports Dead
            by wkellyo
I have this model TV Mainboard is: 3647-0252-0150(6c) At first the HDMI devices stopped displaying and the TV showed this error "This content requires HDCP for playback. HDCP isn't supported by your HDMI connection. This content requires HDCP for playback" or something similar can't quite remember now. All HDMI ports would give the error when moving the same device from one port to another. Tried all the usual, new cables, TV reset, Devices reset, etc. with no success. So I bought some HDMI Port splitters from Amazon which generate a HDCP 2.1 signal which made each device work again....

Samsung UN50MU6070FXZA - HDMI Ports Not Working
            by grimacelord
Hello. Samsung UN50MU6070FXZA here with both HDMI ports non-working. I have already verified multiple sources and multiple cables to ensure it isn't something simple like that as well as resets and software updates.

I took the mainboard out and gave it a look. Nothing looks bad or burned. All of the HDMI pins are nice, none are broken at their pads either.

Following the traces, it looks like both HDMI ports trace back to the main CPU which does seem to get hotter than I think it should despite it's (rather poor) heatsink.

            Since the HDMI controller appears...
