Re: Emerson LF501EM5F shuts down right after turning on.
With grey and white disconnected no back lights at all.

Same setup for the Blue (Anode) and Grey (Cathode), Black and White: but you see <1V on the return so the circuit has open circuit (high resistance) on those strings.Leave a comment:

Re: Emerson LF501EM5F shuts down right after turning on.
So I would need to open it up and see if some of the LEDs don't light up.
But I get the same readings when the led connector is disconnected from the psu.
How can it be an open led string?Last edited by Malachi; 03-07-2016, 04:57 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Emerson LF501EM5F shuts down right after turning on.
Looking at the readings on the Grey and the White wires, I would say you have two LED strings with open circuits.
You can prove that buy removing the Grey and the White female connectors from the socket and see you will see the backlights come on for second or not, that is what I would do.Last edited by budm; 03-07-2016, 04:56 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Emerson LF501EM5F shuts down right after turning on.
OK.
Next, can you tell me the Voltage rating as printed on the body of the cap C1305?Leave a comment:

Re: Emerson LF501EM5F shuts down right after turning on.
Grey and white got as high as those voltages.
Is this looking like a psu problem seeing as how the violates are about the same even with the led disconnected?
Because if you feel it's the psu, I'll just order one.Last edited by Malachi; 03-07-2016, 04:46 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Emerson LF501EM5F shuts down right after turning on.
OK we need to trace out the connection on the Yellow, Grey, and White pins top see if they are LED Cathode return wire of the LED strings or not.
Just to be clear on the Grey wire 'grey drops below 0.86vdc' you said it drops below 0.86VDC but how high did it go up too, that is the important info, same for the White wire.
A quick look at the bottom side of the board, it has 3 Voltage boost converters and 3 PWM Controlled power MOSFET.
Red is the Anode, Yellow is the Cathode return of the first LED string.
Blue is the Anode, Grey is the Cathode return of the second LED string.
Black is the Anode, White is the Cathode return of the third LED string.Last edited by budm; 03-07-2016, 04:41 PM.Leave a comment:

That looks bad.
Disconnect the LED connector and do the same test again.Leave a comment:

Re: Emerson LF501EM5F shuts down right after turning on.
OK, thanks for the clarification. We should check the DCV on the LED connector next.
Leave the read probe on one pin at a time then turn on the TV and see what you see on the meter when the backlights come on and when it goes out, then do the same thing on the next pin, and so on.
How many wires are there on that LED connector? I see six wires:
Red = ??? V (Backlights ON), XXX V(Backlights go OFF)
Yellow =
Blue =
Grey =
Black =
White =Last edited by budm; 03-07-2016, 04:12 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Emerson LF501EM5F shuts down right after turning on.
Sorry, I gues by cycling I meant that it was doing the same thing when powered on.
I realize cycling means continually like I router in a boot loop.
Sorry, I'm new at trying to fix tv's.Leave a comment:

Re: Emerson LF501EM5F shuts down right after turning on.
When I see the word 'Cycling' I would be looking for Voltage going on and off or cycling up and down but we are not seeing that.Last edited by budm; 03-07-2016, 04:05 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Emerson LF501EM5F shuts down right after turning on.
The power led stays on, red, nothing on the screen.
If I press the power button, led blinks, Emerson logo comes on followed by the other message, screen goes black and the power led back to solid red.Leave a comment:

by JonnySHi,
I would like to ask for your help to troubleshoot a faulty PS4 pro power supply
I have a st_by voltage ane when i try to power on 12v line PSU shuts off
i measure lot of components but i don't fins faulty piece ,
when i try to power on 12v line voltage increasing to ~420v so it looks like PFC was working,
Now i have no idea what i can do more to fix itand i will be very helpfully to help me in this case.

by DXseekerMOEarlier this week I got an Emerson LF501EM5F that turns on, the logo comes up, a menu and the channel box come on and it immediately shuts down a split second later.
This was bought new and went in a Laundromat. From there it was on from 7AM to 10PM every day.
So why is this the perfect storm? A month ago I got an Emerson LF501EM4 and an EM4A, both will not turn on. The EM4A was struck by lightning and has a serial of DS1 The EM5F has a serial of DS5. The EM4 has a DS4 serial and the chirping transformer problem with a replaced power supply.
The info... -
by JDCIssue: Emerson lf501em5f turns on, shows logo, then briefly shows what input it is on, then goes black.
Solution: Bad LEDs. In my case, there were 2. This repair may not be worth it unless you're doing it for yourself. I'm personally not a fan of Emerson TVs nowadays. -
by NorrecitoHello all,
I would like to ask for your help to troubleshoot a faulty PS4 pro power supply (ADP-300FR).
A couple of weeks ago, I've picked up a PS4 Pro (CUH-7216B) from one of the local flee markets. According to the seller, it has a "no power" issue and the PSU is most likely faulty. Based on the cracks on the housing, it was probably dropped.
Tried it at home and sure enough, it had a "no power" issue. (Pressing either the power or eject buttons had no effect).
I took out the PSU and opened it. Immediately noticed... -
by huzoThe model is 15ec-1061nm
Board number is DAG3EDMB8D0
SO i turn the laptop on , and as soon as it starts booting from disk, from usb, windows, linux,HBCD,anything i boot it just turns off....while in bios menu or in linux boot menu it stays on normally...It's like when it starts to use graphics it shuts down...But i measured 0.72V while working on the GPU power line,no excess heat is comming from GPU or CPU, i even removed the heatsink and turned the laptop on and everything worked fine, got a bit hot, fan span to full speed, but it worked like that for few minutes in bios...10-29-2024, 12:05 AM - Loading...
