    Lg 50PA5500 repaired?

    Hello Forum,
I would like some information / opinions on my Lg 50PA5500 plasma flat screen tv.
I purchased the tv as a dead set. It came with no base or wall mount. I was able to get the set working by replacing the Y-sus and upper buffer board.
I have read several comments about this model having buffer board ribbon failure problems somewhere along the edge of the set. So far I have no indication that there is a problem in this area.
So here is my thoughts for what they are worth,
1st: if it's not broke, DON'T FIX IT
2nd: attempt to repair the issue that causes the ribbon failure (need a good picture identifying that if possible)
One last comment / question. Is there any information out there as to whether the ribbon failure could be provoked by using wall mount rather than a stand?
thanks for any input / thoughts.

    Re: Lg 50PA5500 repaired?

One quick update. After getting the TV mounted and hooked up to a signal with a good quality picture I see that there is a very thin black line that goes all the way across the screen about 2 inches below the top. That is the only thing that keeps it from being a 100% perfect picture.
Anyone with suggestions of what would be the cause/problem?
    thanks,

Reseat the cables to your buffer that controls the top of your TV. You can get a black line from a defect in a buffer IC or a bad connection on one of the pins on the ribbon cable.

"If its not broke dont fix it" That saying is the biggest load of crap ever. This Tv has a common issue with the plastic on the frame damaging the buffer cable ! Is its a common fault so why leave it ? I dont get it, likely the buffer ribbon is damaged which normally is not fixable sorry
