Sony 32inches LCD TV turning off and on

Hi,

I am experiencing problem with my Sony 32 inches LCD TV which would turn off and then on suddenly. This would occur frequently when I first turn on the TV, then it would go away when the TV has been on for over an hour.

This looks like a thermal problem.
If not under warranty, carefully try disconnecting and reconnecting the power supply board(s) first.
There should not be any bulging capacitors on the power supply board(s).

I did try to open up the unit and clean up the dust to help air flow but it did not help.

Also, it is strange that it switches off and on when it is turned on a while. Then it is gone after it has been powered up over an hour.

i remember sony sets with tons of ringcracked solder joints.
time to take a closer look.
