Panasonic TC 55GT31 Horizontal Black Lines

    Hello Again All,

My previous issue with this set was discussed in detail here:
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=51990

So got my boards back from ModiusPTS. SD/SU boards checked out ok SC board was bad. Got everything hooked back up and few bars came across top portion of panel. Reseated a couple of the ribbons and got all but one section to go away. It's the second ribbon from top of set at least I think. Cleaned it and reseated probably 5-6 with minimal change at best. Not sure where to go here ribbon looks ok see pic, I guess I could have damage it when I removed SD to send in. Beyond frustrated at this point. Kicking myself for even messing with those boards seeing as if they checked out ok. Please help

It is possible when your SC board blew out that it damaged your SU board in the process that it still tests positive, it looks like the one IC that drives that part of the panel is starting to go.

does the screen anomaly change when you apply pressure to that ribbon cable when the set is on?

It is hard to damage those they are pretty tough, the only way you could damage it is pulling on it hard or trying to take the ribbon cable out at an angled when trying to remove the SU board.

Also did you verify your SC voltages are in spec as well as your SMPS voltages as well?

Yeah I'm not quite sure I know what to measure voltage going into SD board. Also no change to lines or pics what so ever when pressure on ribbon see pic of ribbon

would it be possible to get a shot with it evenly illuminated and looking perfectly front on so we can see those little tabs.

then take another picture of the next ribbon cable which is perfect in the same light and angle for comparison.

Don't be tempted to fiddle or adjust the ribbon with the TV on.

Here is a better pic showing tabs....is there a way to actually test ribbon with meter or something?

sorry, should have been clearer. what I was trying to see was a comparision with the bad ribbon inserted to a known good one and using those tabs as markers for any evidence of misalignment.

These can be tricky and need to go in perfectly parallel to have them seat correctly. Looks rather tight to work with similar to my GT which is a thin model. My ST and U models have more finger room.

If it's definitely in right, I guess bad Su board or it may be worth sending the whole 3 boards back to PTS and have them check them, I think they may rebuild the buffers too

Well, I don't know how else to put it, but inserted as in fitted and running. Anyway if you've inserted it numerous times and there's no change at all in the lines I can only presume the SU has an issue.

I'd be sending the buffers too. It should be fixable, I don't expect it's the panel

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen

Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

                              by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.

I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...

                              Hello!
I have been trying to solve this issue the past 12 months to no avail. I have been a lurker here during that time but finally decided to post my problem and see if anybody knows a solution.

                              Problem
My tv (OLED55CXPUA) has an issue where it displays horizonal lines of dotted artifacts.

                              (See Attachment 1)

                              Self Diagnosing
After a very long troubleshooting period I traced the issue to the T-Con board. If I gently flexed/bend the board I could make the display go from GOOD to BAD and vice versa. I have ruled out the connectors/wires...

Hi, I have a sort of old Grundig LCD Led TV that starts to display black horizontal lines after some use. After it's been turned off for a while and cold it does not display any artifacts however after some use it starts to display some faint horizontal lines at the top of the screen and a bunch in the middle of the screen. The longer the tv is on the worse they get until they become very clearly visible. I suspect that heat has something to do with this as when the lines start to appear i notice that the tv's metal case has gotten warm. Could the T-CON start to malfunction when it starts to get...
