Finlux TV/DVD 22F6072-2 Will Not Work With Remote Control

    Hi,

I have a Finlux TV/DVD 22" that will not work when using remote control. Have replaced the original remote control batteries, also purchased another Finlux remote but still unable to get the t.v working using remote?

Apart from this problem, the t.v works fine but am stuck on what to check next?

    Thanks.

check the little IR board on the TV. Maybe there is a shorted cap on the board, a bad regulator, or a bad IR receiver.

Have checked the caps and resistors.

      R1-99.9R
      R2-56.1R
      C1-2.5uf
      C2-2.5uf
      C3-2.5uf
      C4-0.14uf
      C5-0.14uf
      C6-0.14uf.

Not sure on how to check the IR1?

IR1 has a GND pin an 5V input pin and a output pin. Check if the 5V or so are there and if that is o.k. hook up your DMM or better yet a oscilloscope to GND and the output pin. Take the remote and press a button. You should see pulses.

Do not have oscilloscope so hooked up DVOM between ground (center pin) on IR and 5v output pin, pressed remote and voltage dropped to around 4.7V. Also did this test at the 5 pin connector (IR to AV Board) same result so seems as if the IR sensor is working o.k?

When you test the IR sensor with a DMM, you should see a constant DC voltage. Once you press a button on the remote, the voltage should "jump around" a little bit. If it does, the IR is good and there is a problem on either the wiring or on the main board.

More common issue is the firmware messes up and the Tv wont log the IR board when on. You need to re-flash the firmware onto the actual Spi flash Ic rather than Via Usb.

if you have replaced batterys and have a phone with camera function, look at the IR sensor on the remote through the camera, if its working you will see it flash like a torch when pressing the buttons, also could be firmware/flash corruption on the mainboard

Tried the original remote with new batteries using the camera method, there was no flash so did the same test on the new remote and this time I saw a flash. So far I'm unable to find any firmware download for this main board (17MB82-2) also unable to find a replacement board, the closet I can find is for a 24" and 32" so not too sure if this would work on my 22" t.v?

There are a few boards for the 22" but they only have one HDMI socket?
