    Last TCP50G20 i will be working on.

    I tried to rebuild the sc board 30 parts and pow flash of light it's done
    Might have a bad panel or some other boards at fault.When I got into repairing this board the foil traces were burnt where the transistors on the heat sink

    were.should of known.Guys on the forum here had some good luck at repairing these.Guess this TV had more problems then i bargained for.
    The next TV I get in here for repairs maybe not so many problems.

      Well it would have been nice if you gave us some pictures and a list the bits you replaced. That's a lot of parts.

      can't say I've had burnt traces except when I bypassed the sos6 cct thinking it was ok and had a shorted SMD diode I missed. that cooked the board and trace.

      Was the board a virgin?

          the problems I have found with the boards that have ended up with me after a few failed repairs, is that when the heat sink components are removed. the small front to back solder sleeves come away with the component as the board is twin sided, then when the new part is fitted there is no connection between both sides of the board. this does not show when testing as this would be done on the solder side of the board.               How often would you fail though? Or are you referring to other peoples attempts and the boards are damaged?

                  no talking boards that I have had sent to me after failed repairs. I always get the same tale I changed all the parts again and it blown once more? when I get the boards and check the parts that should connect from front to back there is no connection. as the sleeves are missing the components are only connected on the back, you can change the parts over and over but if they are only connected to the back side of the board they will keep blowing, and as you know take more and more parts with them

                      It'd be interesting to have a collection photos of the worst examples .

                      Would take a bit of doing to destroy those. I was pretty rough in the beginning and came close on the very 1st board after 5 goes.

                          I dont think it is that hard to damage these boards. if you remove components using a pulling force on them from the front as you heat the three legs, its not that hard to pull the the sleeves out and miss the fact, thinking its just solder on the legs, then when you fit the replacement there is a void were the sleeves should be and the solder only takes on the back of the board and cannot flow to the front so no connection is made, normal testing will not show this as most of us will test from the back and any component tested would test to be good, but any connection to the front of the board is missing

                              I do have one more sc board I am working on
                              It's a TNPA5175AB see how this one goes.
                              Some good tips about checking the double sided connections when you solder.
                              This has no burnt foil traces like the other one.
                              Keep you posted how it turns out.

                                  I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                                  Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                                  I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                                  The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                                  With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                  Hi There,

                                  This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

                                  Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

                                  I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

                                  The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.
