Another nice read with a positive conclusion. Cheers for that info Tom bout outside pins of the fets talked about as low to s/c due to the design of the circuit. One to remember.

          Hello,

Sorry for reviving a very old thread, but I happen to have the same issue.

I have a Pioneer PDP LX5090H with low hours that has been in storage for a number of years.

Today, I powered it up and all appeared fine... for about 20 mins, anyway, after which the screen when blank. I now have the repeating 2 red flash codes when trying to cycle the power, with the screen apparently dead.

I removed the back cover panel and checked the Y-SUS and X-SUS drive boards (following advice in this thread). The first thing I noticed is that all of the large, 280uF caps have a slightly domed top and when checking the transistors on the aluminium heatsinks, there are 6 dead (shorted) on the Y board and 4 similarly dead on the X board.

I guess I have to replace the boards now, but my questions for which I'd be most grateful for some pointers are:

1.) is it likely that the caps went bad whist the TV was in storage for 4 years and have consequently caused the transistors (IGBTs) to fail from over-voltage spikes ?
2.) or is it likely that there is some fault in the main PSU that has precipitated to the X and Y boards, damaging the caps and transistors ?

It seems to be cheaper to replace the complete boards with used good ones rather than replace the 10 transistors (and maybe other components). However, how can I know if the PSU is the faulty culprit, in which case it could happen again?

          Many thanks for any input.

Samsung plasma - flashing standby light
            by 7ony
The TV is a 2013 Samsung plasma, model # PN60F5300AFXZA.

Snagged it up in non-working condition a couple years ago. Previous owner said that sometimes he could get it to come on after repeated tries but other than that he couldn't get it to turn on.

Personally I haven't been able to get it to turn on at all. The standby light comes on solid when plugged in, but pressing the power button results in the standby light flashing once every 4 or so seconds. No "click" noises, no light from the panel at all. Just the flashing standby light.

            No visible...

Samsung UE43KU6400U Flashing Red Standby Light
            by Bloopeta
Have a Samsung UE43KU6400U that will not turn on, just continuous flashing red standby light.
            Power button does nothing

Have unplugged the mainboard, and backlights illuminate.
Have tried removing panel ribbon cables one at a time, and that makes no change.

With mainboard unplugged, all voltages from powerboard seem ok, but with mainboard connected, they never quite reach full voltage, and drop and raise in a constant loop (in time with click noise from mainboard.

Using backlight tester, I get 63.6v on both sides, so seems like no bulbs...

Samsung UN55D6000FXZA - Won't stay on, standby light flashing rapidly
            by fuxxy
This is a set I posted about a few years ago. Replaced LED strips and worked fine until now.

Plug the set in, and it will turn on and functions with no issues.

After a while, (sometimes hours, sometimes minutes, sometimes immediately) the tv shuts off. When I approach the TV I notice the standby light is flashing rapidly, but the pulse of each flash is not long enough to notice from afar.

Other than the standby light, the unit is completely unresponsive until the power is removed and reapplied, then the cycle starts over. It does appear that the time it takes...

LED TV Samsung The Frame 55 inch QE55LS03RAU Standby Light only
            by ChristianBr01
            Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power...

HP Elitebook 845 G8 dead, only caps lock flashing 7 times. Charging light always on
            by esqmooo
            Hello everyone.

This is my development machine. I've been using it since two years and half without any problem except sometimes it wouldn't wake up from sleep.
Lately the issue became more frequent and powering it up would take few seconds to show the POST screen.
Then the computer refuses to power on at all. Now only the caps lock button flashes 7 times then stops. The charging light is always on whenever a power source is connected (battery or charger).
I tried long pressing on the power button, after several seconds it would go off then when the button is released...
