hi, i have an lg 37" lcd about 10 years old. when power cord is plugged into wall the led on the front housing lights up red, but tv won't turn on when i press the remote or button on the housing. the p/s board has a "P-ST-5V" pin on one of two ribbon connectors going into the mainboard; if I unplug these connectors thus isolating the p/s board, I can read 5V on my digital multimeter on this "P-ST-5V" pin.
Now I unplug every port on the motherboard and only plug in the two connectors from the p/s, "P-ST-5V" now reads 4.6V on my meter. And I cannot turn on the TV. Is this my problem? Is it correct to think that I should see a steady 5V at this pin even it's plugged in? If this is my problem should I look in the p/s board for the faulty component(s) or mainboard? I want to think mainboard since I am using a newly replaced refurbished p/s board but you never know. Please offer some input, thank you very much!
