    LG Plasma TV 50PA6500 vertical lines

    Hello Guys,
    i have a TV that has max 40h of usage (Office Monitor).
    The next day, it has well defined vertical lines.
    I doubt, it's the logic board (or T-con).
    Can anybody confirm this ?

    Sound comes nicely, and channels are switchable, only the lines remain.
    Even entering the menu doesn't change the picture.

    Please find attached some pictures.

    Any help is highly appreciated.

    Thanks, Jan

    PS: In case... can i use a Rev. 1.1 board instead of the mounted Rev. 1.0 ? (same LG part no. for both)

    Can you take the back off and take some pictures of the boards for us?

      Thanks for the quick reply!
      Yes, i can do so tomorrow.

      However, i think it's such a distinct failure,
      someone might know what's the cause.

      I'll post pics tomorrow.

      Thanks, Jan

        Ok, with a little delay, here's the picture.
        IThe logoc board is the small one in the middle.

        For LG spare parts, what is the relevant number, EBR or EAX ?

        Thanks, Jan

            Look up on how to run the test patterns on Lg plasmas. I would say mobo at fault here.

              I made a mistake. The tcon and main board I have are from a 60pA6500ua

                I disconnected the Mainboard and shortened the ext_auto_gen pins on the logic board.
                The stripes remain, or better appear, when the pins are shortened.

                So i suspect, the Mainboard is OK.

                What about the Y-SUS ?

                Regards, Jan

                PS: i just measured some Voltages:

                Y-SUS:
                VY=190V
                VSC=150,7 V

                Power Supply:
                VS=205,4 V
                VA=55,6 V

                VZB=149,9 V

                    Ditto, I'd be thinking logic ctrl board especially if it remains with the mainboard isolated and the auto-gen enabled

                      Ok, i think i'll replace it.
                      I have an EAX, an EBR and a revision on the board.

                      Do all three have to match ?

                      Thanks.

                        most likely the EBR number, the EAX could be just the PCB number, the white sticker would be the one I'd go with.

                          Ok, guys!
                          I finally ordered a new logic board for .... 6$ (18$ postage to Germany), and ......
                          IT WORKED

                          The pattern is still a bit visably when the screen is black, but i hope this will disappear over time.

                          THX to all supporting!

                            Yes you may have some retention (hopefully not burn in!) Running it for a while should cure it.
