Hi all, just wanted to get your opinion on the photo. Looks like a possible cold solder joint started arcing? If not from cold joint then.... Question is would you take the time to repair the pad, just solder, or look for a new power supply board. Thanks in advance,

Re: Phillips 47PFL3603D/27 Cold Solder?
I have repaired many of these Phillips units by just re-flowing all major power passing devices on the smps. I have one running in my outdoor party barn that has been there for a year, in South Texas. They are very good sets..Ahead of their time. Used to see them in all the sports bars..now I know why.

Those 2 blue ceramic capacitors fail all the time. You can restore the solder but it will come back , they will either blow up or you will see burn marks as you see it now. I think its the backlight thats failing cause of age , it might ask "to much" power. ( my guess ).
IF it happens again then remove those 2 caps , tv will work without them.Last edited by Moreno83; 02-21-2016, 03:47 AM.I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!
