With the ic still on board there is no resistance from the GND pin to any of the 3 drain pins.

Update: removed the IC and still no resistance. Also apart from faulty RB806, also there is no resistance in RB801.

Rb801 is part of the snubber circuit so it will have resistance in thousands of Ohms, it is more likely to be OK. Like I indicated, you can use 2A fuse in place of the fusible resistor to see if you will get the STBY Voltage back.

OK... so I need to replace the IC and place a 2A fuse instead of RB806. Shall I use a normal 2A fuse (12v?) and solder it in place of RB806 or I can leave RB806 there and solder it underneath?

            Thanks

You can test the circuit using 2A 250V fuse without replacing the IC, the fuse will bow if the IC is bad, or order new IC, fusible resistor, NTC and put them in and power the TV up through the lamp (75W) in series with the TV LINE (HOT) wire.

SH*t. I removed the IC already and one of the legs got damaged whilst removing it. Maybe I will try and solder a piece of wire instead of the leg. If I do... could you please let me know the exact location where to place the fuse?

I would not do that, you might as well replace the parts now instead of taking a chance of damaging the circuits.

Hi all. First of all thanks to your dedication and time (especially budm). Due to time restriction and much more damaged components than I had anticipated in the PSU (some of them are not even available in my country) I was considering buying a new PSU.

I have found this supplier in the UK which sells the A version at a good price; ie: BN44-00208A. Mine is B but you said it is compatible right?

On their website they have several BN44-00208A all using circuit board PSLF171501B (like mine) but they are version 1.0, 1.1, 1.3 and have different TV model number - all 32 inch. Mine is 26.

Will any of these be good for me, ie: to replace BN44-00208B on a 27 inch and which one shall I take? I have asked their customer care and they do not know whether they are compatible or not! These are the items...

                    http://www.lcd-plasma-parts.co.uk/in...rch=bn44-00208

Can you pls have a look?

Re: Samsung - no standby - already replaced all caps but still

I have a Samsung with a BN44-00208B power supply board. I found RB806 (10 ohm fusible Resistor) to be bad, open circuit. I also found RB801 to be reading 340K ohms when it is suppose to be 440K ohms. So I want to replace these.

How do I figure out what wattage resistors I need?
And I am guessing there is a big difference from a regular resistor and a fusible one.

RB806 colors are Brown, Black, Black, Gold, White.
RB801 colors are Yellow, Yellow, Yellow, Gold.
