Re: emerson lf501em4 turns on when plugged in then turns off
The discoloration may be normal, components that dissipate more heat will cause this.
We need to find out if the PSU turns off by itself or if it is commanded by the mainboard.
If nothing is indicated on the boards you will need to measure all signals on the white flat cable connecting mainboard and PSU when 1. in initial standby, 2. ON (screen on), 3. after it clicked and turned itself off. Post the results here.Comment

Re: emerson lf501em4 turns on when plugged in then turns off
starting with the top pin as being pin #1 i will put 2 columns with left being off and right with bl on
1 ground
2 0 not common to ground and no volts on or off
3 0 off; .2 after pushing power button .1 when backlights come on and seems to flash .2 right before backlights go off and tv shuts off
4 2.9 ; 2.9
5 0; 3.0 as soon as push power
6 0; 3.2 as soon as push power
7 0 ; .1 after pushing power then jumps to 2.2 with backlights on split second before backlights go off and tv shuts off, i see 2.4
8 3.3; 3.3
9-13 ground
14 0; 0
15-18 6.3 off 12.4 on
19-22 11.4 off 21.2 on
i tested these with the lvds cable plugged in and also un plugged it makes no differenceComment

by StephenMacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable to reset the computer. I disconnect the battery fully and then reconnect it and it won't turn back on. After letting it sit for a day I plug the battery back up, and the MagSafe 3 cable and it powers on and stays ons, once I plug in a USB C cable into the port closes to the MagSafe port it turns off and the Amber light turns off and won't turn on. No water damage, nothing, I want to do a DFU restore to wipe the computer since the customer stated they did an update and ever since it just decided to not work...

by ZentechI got a Lenovo Thinkcentre MT-3218 that when I plug the power cord, the computer turns on. The power button seems to work just fine. When I press it the computer turns off, and when I press it again, it comes back on. But when I unplug the power, and plug it back again, it turns the computer on... does anyone have an idea what might be causing this strange behavior. Could this be the power supply or a bad contact on the power button?
thanks
PS: everything else on the computer works fine -

by ShinjuHey All!
Long time forum member here with a problematic laptop issue!
I got a RZ09-0196 with a bloated battery (still worked and charged fine) I pulled the old cell pack out and installed a new cell pack in its place.
The laptop would not power on with the new battery installed without the power supply being plugged in.
When booting into Win10 (all up to date BTW) I saw the battery icon with 49% plugged in not charging.
TL;Dr version, old battery worked, charged but was bloated, installed a new non OEM replacement, laptop/windows... -
by ZixuTechSeems like we are dealing with a case of a corrupted BIOS after Intel Driver software attempted to flash the bios (haven't seen that before). The customer reported seeing a BIOS message while the screen was flickering during the Intel Display Driver installation. This was while the BIOS WRITE lock jumper was in place. Resulting in Loop restarting.
Afterwards, the customer attempted flashing BIOS via USB stick, resulting now in turning and immediately shutting down unit NUC8I7HNK4.
Under the thermal cam, I can see that the CPU is initiating a heat signature for a second...-
