    Samsung HP-S5053 Y-SUS

Hello I tried experimenting with a picture issue I had and now I have 4 blinks on the set. I removed one of the Y-SUS connectors (the one with the X on it) that go to the panel and put it back on while the set was on. Needless to say I got a pop and now I have the 4 blink problem. Can anyone please help to tell me what I may have done. PS board relay clicks on and then off blue light on front blinks 4 times and goes out. Green led on small board above main board stays solid.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Ok never ever mess with a y sustain cable or any of the cables going to the panel while the TV is on. Not only is it dangerous but it can cause significant damage to the TV. What you probably have done Is shorted out that buffer board. You can attempt to disconnect that buffer board from the TV and what I mean by that is pull the buffer board completely off the Y sustain board and unplug all the cables then power up the TV and see if you have half of a picture still. If so replace the buffer board. if not you have other significant damage to the Ysus along with a failed buffer board.

What exactly was the picture issue you had that you were experiencing before you pulled the cable and try reconnecting it with power on?

The lines are vertical colored lines? Like from top to bottom? If so that is panel failure as the vertical row Drivers located at the bottom of the panel Are starting to go bad. Unfortunately this is not repairable. Did you try disconnecting that buffer bored and seeing if you still have a picture On half of the TV still?

Unplugged buffer and left ysus in still no boot up. 4 blinks and nothing.
Also yes thin colored line runs from top to bottom

4 blinks is also not an error code ! Its the normal boot up sequence for Samsung Tvs.

                    Re: Samsung HP-S5053 Y-SUS

There is no power going to the screen. I hear relay clicking but screen does not come on. All this happened after I reinstalled a lifted cable back to the buffer board while the power was on. There was an arc and then I pulled the plug. I've checked all the fuses and they are all good. Something is blown either on the power supply board or somewhere because power is no longer switching on to the to the buffer boards.
                    Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Looks like I blew a couple diodes on the lower section of the lower buffer board.

If them diodes are blown you will have some shorted fets as well.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                          Assuming...

                          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?

I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....
