What is the LCD screen model number so we can look up the spec sheet? We need to find out if the lamps are CCFL or EEFL.

I could not find the spec for the LTF400HF12 which has 14 LAMPS, I found the spec for the HF16 but it only has 12 lamps.

so if I can find these bulbs and replace them are we saying this will fix the unit? or is there likly still a board issue on top?

Your best bet would be to look out for a set that that has a damaged screen and strip for parts. mostly any old 40"LCD model you should be able to use with a little bit of work to fit

Good bulbs will almost certainly fix your issue.

would it be something a repair shop could supply me out of an old set, I've had a look around and people want silly money for broken/damaged sets :-( its not looking good

It wouldn't hurt to contact repair shops. Like I said in an earlier post, another member posted that he bought six bulbs for 5 pounds.

                        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
                        by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

No back light on Samsung UN65MU6290, Need help modifying Power Supply Board.
                        by Chillin014
Hello all and thanks in advance for helping me with this.

I am a novice TV repair hobbyist and just picked up this Samsung UN65MU6290 / PS board # BN44-00873C with no backlight but otherwise seemingly fully functional. My initial assumption was the LED strips were bad but upon further research apparently the Power Supply board can also be at fault for "over driving" the LED strips. On ShopJimmy they are recommending to replace some resistors and other components (transistors?) in conjunction with the LED strips (although their referenced Youtube link only demonstrates replacing...

                        Samsung Power Supply Board BN44-00874F
                        by Nicktronic
                        Hey everyone,

This power supply board is hard to find but there are repair kits available. This board had a blown fuse, FP801S, blown PFC MOSFET, QP802CS and ceramic cap, CP809. I replaced them with parts I already had and tested the rest of the parts that would've come in the repair kit and they were fine. I powered the board up on the bench expecting, in typical Samsung power supply board fashion, to see all my output voltages but, nothing. 0 volts on CNL801, CNM801 and CNT801. The only thing I have is 170vdc on the filter caps. No standby voltage either.

                        Anybody...
