Samsung PN42A400C2DXZA Screen lights up for 5 seconds then goes out

When plugging in, the TV turns on, screen lights up but with no picture (other than some vertical lines) for 5 seconds, then screen goes dark (TV still on).

When I did control board test, screen stays on normally, and shows all test patterns but with the same vertical lines shown in each. All voltages are normal.

I'm guessing the panel is causing the vertical lines, but why is it shutting down, and there is no startup chime either. And does not respond to power button. Bad main board also?

I would say Panel failure sorry. Seen it before on the Uk version of this set.

I'm trying to determine if main board is good, it would seem everything else is working, correct?

Any idea if the main board would shut down the TV for the defect in the panel, or main is just bad?
