I've inherited this Hitachi set faulty, and it's blinking the standby light - it turns on, power LED flashes and then turns off. Panel appears to be OK, it lights up and the Hitachi logo appears before it powers off. I've checked as much as I can, bearing in mind I'm merely a hobbyist with minimal equipment and can't see anything obvious. Annoyingly it's a pain in the backside to get to the double row of connections between the psu and mainboard.
Pics below as well as a vid showing the blinking in case the code is useful - it doesn't show the Hitachi logo coming up as the LCD cable was disconnected.
I've tried it with the backlights disconnected, speakers disconnected and it made no difference. Diodes all appear to be OK as that seems to be a common fault and all capacitors physically look OK.
I don't like replacing PSU's as they're usually a bit easier to diagnose and the mainboards for these are either ruddy expensive or hard to come by, even in smashed TV sets. I suspect people more often than not hurl these straight into skips where they belong! I just don't like giving up
Any help gratefully received!
