Hi All.
I'll start by saying while I have some electronics experience I am by no means a techy.
I am trying to repair my samsung 50" plasma.(ps50c550)
I've read many articles about it but haven't really been able to nail my issue.
The first sign of probs was when it started to show reddish pixels at the base of the screen. Then it shut off and now it does the power cycle thing.
I have inspected the boards and there are no visible bad caps, damaged or burnt components of any sort. No dry joints.
There is a little heat discoloration of the xsus board.
On my model I am unable to individually unplug the ysus xsus as the xsus runs through the ysus. however if I unplug the xsus from the ysus it doesn't power cycle. I still get nothing on screen though and at no time do i ever get audio.
During the power cycling I am getting over 300v @ VS instead of the stated 211v. I get around 20v @ VA rather than 55. These fall away if stay on them with the meter.
My suspicion is the xsus but before I buy it - anyone have any ideas or further tests I can run.
P.s. If i unplug everything from the power board i get no voltages.... even if I trick the board on with the "blue wire" to the control board. but i think there must be multiple triggers.
Thanks for any help... I can't afford a new tv at the mo..
