Vizio E550i-A0 About half way down to the bottom I get horizontal lines and it blurs or doubles/ghosts (see pic) I would say if it were vertical lines TCON but this has no TCON so just asking for opinions if it was thought this was in the screen or if a main board would fix it?

Re: Vizio screen issue Opinion
Thats definitely a defective panel I seen this problem before. Take a can of freeze spray and with the metal frame pulled away from the panel and spray the very edges of the panel on the left and the right side. See if the problem starts to disappear. You may get away with doing this without removing the metal bezel but give it a shot anyways.Did I leave the soldering iron on? -
Re: Vizio screen issue Opinion
I put freeze spray on it and did not make much difference. I watched it for a while before putting it on and noticed that the lower half of the screen would stop for a couple seconds before catching up to the top half. Are you sure this would be a bad panel as I hate to scrap a 55" smart TV.Comment

Re: Vizio screen issue Opinion
It does look like a bad panel. You could carefully take the edges of the TV and twist back and forth slightly to see if anything changes. It could be a tab bonding problem. Also there's a slight possibility that it could be a tcon board but I doubt it. You could try to remove the ribbon cables and reconnect them to see if you have a bad connection between the tcon and panelLast edited by freakaftr8; 11-24-2015, 05:25 PM.Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: Vizio screen issue Opinion
No TCON it's all on the main. I tried pushing and touching around and on the ribbon cables and did not seem to make a difference. did remove and reconnect cables at both ends. It did not change color or brightness before it caught up. I have run in to this before but with verticle lines never horizontal. I could get a usded main for $40 from flebay and that would tell me for sure but then I would be out $40 oh, I also tried a heat gun and did not get worse.Comment

Re: Vizio screen issue Opinion
I wish you luck. Is the main board doesn't fix it there are alternative measures. I'll tell you about them later. I can't tell from the pictures but is the same horizontal line there where everything else freezes in the same spot all the time?Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Yep sounds like a panel fault. Have you tried the 1 ribbon cable connected to the panel at a time trick?Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

by wizard13Hello everyone,
I am experiencing a BIOS-related issue with my Dynabook Satellite Pro C50D-B-100. When I power on the laptop, the screen stays black, and there is no response from the system. I suspect a corrupted BIOS.
I have checked the forum and the available documentation but could not find a solution specific to my issue.- Brand & Model: Dynabook Satellite Pro C50D-B-100

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by cloudyHi everybody
Since day one I'm having an unpleasant contrast/brightness issue on my Asus laptop.
Basically while watching movies, if subtitles appear on screen, the contrast or the brightness of the entire screen increases a lot (not sure if it'is brightness or contrast), disturbing the viewing of the movie.
Last year I replaced my screen because got damaged and this contrast/brigthness issue persists. It happens only on the laptop screen, in fact If i plug an external HDMI screen the issue does not occour on it.
It occours both on ubuntu and windows...01-01-2023, 05:12 PM -
by ScHAmPiHi all,
Because of two bright spots and a couple of dark spots I decided to replace the backlights in my Samsung UE48JU7000. See attached photos:
I thought all went well, but after full assembly and testing it out it turns out not all is fine. The backlights are completely fine but I have some weird issues on the right half of the screen. Since I didn't really touch the T-CON board (apart from taking out the ribbons of the display and reconnecting them on assembly) it would be weird that the issue is with the T-CON board... But based on the behavior of the service...2 Photos -
by spice_discI'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.
The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...1 Photo - Loading...
