    Apex LD4688T - bad inverter ss1460_12f01

this tv backlight turns on for 1 sec and shuts down. the cable to inverter tested 24v. It appears to be getting power to inverter. I noticed transformer at loc. T200 looks burnt(see pics).
the pic of entire inverter board is off shopjimmy site(not my board).

First off I am wondering if anyone has a source for the
transformer 340158AD or an alternate part. I cannot find one.

second, can i check the circuit leading to the transformer with a multimeter to be sure other parts are good? if so how.

Hopefully someone is familiar with this board and can give some input. it seems to be a common problem.
i am going to look through my spare boards. update: closest i have on hand is 340163AD. probly wont work.

I still cannot find a transformer for this inverter board. A while back I read a post where someone found a similar board direct from china from a translated site like this. https://translate.google.com/transla...ml&prev=search
I am not 100% sure if it is the correct part but it is $15.00 us

    Board #- ss1460_12f01 rev. 2 03319AWB338119G0

    transformer part #-340158AD U0 1187 c k

I did find this transformer 340158AD U0 1141 c s but I do not know if it is close enough and they show different parts in there pictures.http://world.taobao.com/item/5230697....FS5uuN#detail

    UPDATE: I found this http://www.directtao.com/p-39877854740.html
but all there shipping options say $0.00 so i am waiting on an email about it.

I thought there would be response to this since it is a common problem for this tv and 6 other tv models, 3 are sony. It is such a common problem I cannot find a board or parts in stock anywhere online. I prefer finding the transformer for lower cost. I do not know how or if it can be cross referenced with another part.

I will sit on this a few days and hopefully someone has a spare part or something.

Are you sure the transformer is bad? You can test for ohms on primary and secondaries. If you have a ring tester that is the best method. Have you tested feedback from lamps to make sure you don't have an out of spec bulb? Im not saying it couldn't be the transformer but there is a lot of tests you can do to confirm.

Yes I am sure transformer is bad.
I bought a board from buyqual.com. it should be here in 2 weeks.

            Original Xbox 1.0 PSU: Foxlink FTPS-0002 Rev. B. — 12 V low, 5 V high — transformer?
            by ohren
            Hello!

I'm looking at an original Xbox PSU: Foxlink ftps-0002 rev. B. The 12 V output is too low, and the 5 V output is too (?) high. Unfortunately I don't have an oscilloscope but only a DMM for diagnosis.

            Measured voltages with no load:

            After rectifier diodes
            12V: 6.17 V
            5V: 5.67 V

Secondary transformer pins AC measurement (really don't know if this says anything)
            12V: 2-2.5 V
            5V: 1.04 V

I also have another (working) Xbox psu from Delta. The same measures there, in order, being: 10.79,...

Is it possible for transformer substitution?
            by mikey5791
            Hi all,
Got this local made DC power supply (12/14V) given free as the transformer has melted. There is no marking or indication to identify what type or rating of transformer used.
Fyi,. I had a busted autogate mainboard with transformer with marking 13-0-13 . Is this the 13v dc type transformer?
            My questions are
            1. How do i test to see if the transformer is in good working condition?
            2. Can this transformer (marking 13-0-13) be used to replace the melted transformer on the DC power supply?
Hope you guys understand what i was asking. My intention is...

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
            by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

            3PHASE STEP-DOWN Transformer in Check
            by dennis_elx33
            Hello All,

i would like to post an interesting topic regarding 3-phase stepdown transformer which we suspect to cause an overcurrent (138A) which resulted to power tripped off of the HV power supply (80KV output).

            Problem statement: Power tripped Off

Initial Problem: Found 2 IGBT and 2 rectifier diodes shorted (burnt).

            Action Done:
            1) Replaced the faulty parts with good spare.
            2) Measured impedance of the 3phase input lines and found that L2 to L3 has 23.3ohm while other pairs are 51Kohm. This pins will...
