    LE37M88BD Possibly Bad Lcd ?

Hello all deciding weather or not to buy this faulty Lcd Tv for £30 I have not yet seen it in person however the symptoms of failure are as follows:

Red tint to every image displayed.
Bar running across top of display.
Image is vertically separated by small black bars all 1cm apart.

What do you guys think this could be I am aware that this uses and Auo panel with As15 Ic which could cause the Red tint and small black bars. However the bar across the top could this be a Lcd driver pack failure ? Meaning this will need a new screen never seen and As15 fault cause this.

Let me know what you think cheers chaps.

Tbh looking at it I think its a mix of both, as only the red sub pixels are working that suggests As15 failure and I have seen an As15 cause the 1cm black bars across the screen as well. But the horizontal bar I think is Lcd failure either way dont think its worth the gamble.

Yeah I repaired pne of these panels which if my notes are correct is a T370HW02 for tab bonds ages ago, however this looks more like a driver failure. Im buying it anyway just to see only paying £10 for it.

Got the tv here and as I predicted its a combination of failures. The As15-F Ic is failed, the Ic is burning hot and the gamma reference voltages are out some do fluctuate from 0-3v every so often which isnt good, As15 failed. Also if I flexed the Lcd the bar across the top would come and go however pressing on thhe tabs doesnt seem to solve it, so panel is also trash.

Im going to replace the failed As15-F which will be the fourth one I have done this week ! Then sell the Tcon which is fetching about £30-£50 on ebay. Panel and Tcon are Auo no wander they failed. Junk !

                Thanks for reading.

AUO aren't too bad in my opinion.

They are ok have seen quite a few Auo Lcd glass fail. These panels which are also used in Le37R88bd which is the tv I have in my living room do have good image quality, color and contrast wise. Also seen the 42" version of this panel fail on an Lg as well.

I will just preface all this by saying that I have a fairly technical background but have never attempted SMD electronics diagnostics and repair before, I really like the idea and want to learn.

I have a MacBook Pro late 2016 that died maybe four years ago. Over the course of 30 seconds, it got slower and stuttered, until it froze for a second and died. No click from the trackpad anymore, nothing. I started getting interested in electronics repair and decided to give it a shot, so I opened it, removed the battery (one cell was puffy), took out the motherboard and experimented with...

LG 55LF652V-ZA flashing led bars despite their replacement
                      by Akira81
                      Hello everyone,

I have this 55" LG 55LF652V-ZA smart TV which suddenly started flashing intermittently every 2 seconds with the backlight.

If I aimed the light bulb of my cell phone I could see the underlying image even in those fractions of time when the LEDs were off and the audio instead came out continuously.

Armed with a lot of space and patience, I decided to open the TV, immediately noticing that a LED had flamed out and also burned a portion of that reflective white panel behind the transparent LED diffusers.

Hi all, I hope this is the right place to post.

I'm having a problem with a Dell 9310 which is posting 2 orange, 4 white lights on startup (hangs on Dell BIOS logo). The service manual says its a RAM failure.

I've taken the motherboard out and noticed that one of what looks like an SMA 0805 resistor has blown (see photo). The board is an LA-J144P Rev 2.0(A01).

1] Could someone confirm what the component that has blow actually is (and where I could get another from).
2] Whether this component is likely to cause the RAM failure issue, and if replacing...

Carrier HK50AA063 display controller common failure help
                      by ctroxtell
I've got a control display for a Carrier chiller that I'm trying to understand what the common failure with these boards are. This is the board in question https://www.supplyhouse.com/Carrier-...arquee-Display all of them seem to develop a failure with the up and down arrow buttons on the right side of the display, the esc and enter keys I've never seen fail. Once these boards are plugged in they run 24/7, you used to have to press extremely hard with the end of the blunt screwdriver and you could still get the arrows to work but now it has completely stopped working. The button...
