Sammy LN-T4671F screaming static bursts of noise

Ok, so, this TV is terrifying.

I pulled it out, and plugged it in and it worked fine. This has happened before, where I get a TV that behaves fine at first, and then starts shutting off or has intermittent behavior of some problem. So, I set it up for my GF to watch some TV on and after a few minutes of fiddling with the settings for full pixel, turn off dynamic, etc, it emits a burst of horribly loud noise, and scared the bejeezus out of me, as I was only a foot or so away. After about a minute it did it again. OK, GF is complaining, but I wondered if maybe it would abate as the TV warmed up.

Nope, a minute later it started full blast terrifying-grudge-ghost-in-your-TV screaming and I pulled the plug.

Any ideas? bad speaker connection somewhere? Bad main? I haven't opened it yet, but wondering if anyone has encountered this before.

TV seems nice otherwise, despite the glossy screen.

EDIT: Not just the audio. After testing it a few more times, the screen started bugging out in conjunction with the audio freak outs. Now, I just get a highly messed up digital artifacted image when I turn it on. So...main board right?

    Cheers

Was the screen normal during this? Could be a short in the audio processor. And yes this is located on the mainboard
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Screen was fine. I'm hoping it's just a speaker fix, but kinda doubt it.

It was at first, but after more fiddling, nope, screen is just as screwy as the audio. I'll take it apart and have a look at the board, reseat all cables, etc.

EDIT: Took it apart, no obvious bulges or anything anywhere. Tried all three HDMI inputs, same thing. Tried flexing the main board while it was freaking out, and it would fix itself. So, definitely the main. I wish I had access to a reflow oven.

Ordered a replacement off ebay for like 35 bucks. We'll see.

        Cheers
