The tv used to take a while to turn on, making a high pitch whining sound, and eventually the tv stopped working. Will attempt to turn itself on with led blinking green as soon as i plug the power cable in. All buttons power included are inop at this time. It will then after a few seconds go solid green, but no display, no sound, and power button will not work. And a high pitch whibing from inside during the whole process from the moment power cable is plugged in and led blinks. After a few minutes it shuts itself off, led goes red. Power button will work to turn it back on at this point, and process repeats. Took it apart to find one capacitor swelled, so I replaced it with good soldering (a friend who works aerospace building circuit boards for 747's soldered it in for me.) Still does the same thing. I noticed the whining sound to be coming from a yellow component next to the large rubber coated (i believe its a capacitor says 450v if i remember right and is black rubber coated) in the center of the board. Checking power, i had 11.81-11.9 volts on all 12v pins, 6.02 to 6.06 on the 6v pins nd 4.98v on the 5v pins. All consistent, however I only show 1.3v on the 3.4v pins showing a problem at the 3.4v. Im no tv expert, but i work on volkswagen electrical for a dealership, so i know enough to do the easy parts around electrical systems. Not sure what my problem is and im hoping someone can help me out. Thanks in advance! Picture attatched shows the component whining i am speaking of, which is above the large capacitor near center of the board. (Circled in black) Again, im no expert but hey thats what this discussion is for right? Thanks again!

Bad cap can look normal, I would have recap the board since one is already bad. I am sure your friend has good cap meter that can do all kind of test on the caps.Never stop learning

Is the ic something i can go purchase from radio shack? Or is there any info on what to look for if it were to be bad?Comment

Re: another lg 32lc2d-ue power up problem
on top of the ic there some writing/numbers you would have to order it online not sure radio shack would carry it. try the re cap first see how it goes, and maybe if you havent read the two links ive posted fully as one of the 3.4 volts does seem to run low.Comment

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

by sam_sam_samI have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump
One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy... -
